Phantom screw pump.
« on: August 12, 2008, 02:32:39 pm »

I had built a system of 10 screw pumps to drain water from an area fast enough to drop some floodgates into it.  When the floodgates had been installed, I removed four now-useless screw pumps.  I didn't cut power to the system, since I didn't think it would matter.

Fast-forward a year or so.  My remaining six screw pumps are still merrily shifting water where it needs to go.  But the system is still pulling 124 power where it should be pulling 84. (six pumps, two 1x2 axles, four gear assemblies)  It seems a pump that's dismantled while still pumping never actually removes itself from the system.

Do you still have the save?  It'll probably help if I can take a look at it.  I'll need the region folder in some kind of zip/rar/7z, and any new objects that were added to the raw folder.  If it's less than 20 megs, you can send it to toadyone@bay12games.com.  You can also try The Dwarf Fortress File Depot which has a special section for bugged saves.
