Flies?

when you're on the main map and you see all the random things that look like flies rushing around are those the armies discussed on the bay 12 site? or are they random encounters

In all seriousness, I've gotten the impression they were rain, just from observations of their movements.  They roll in off the seas, cutting off your sight range.  Looks like a duck and quacks like a duck. *shrug*

I think its a fog of some type, I've something like that around deserts.
But then again it could just be a frozen over lake.
I forget
It impedes movement either way.

I'm not sure what the icon for migrants is, I haven't seen any of them yet.

Should be - . Anyways, when the 'flies' appear only when you're moving, it's just clouds. If they stay in one spot it shows rain or snowstorms.

Yeah, - are migrants, mostly from your abandoned forts. I learned that when I made it my mission to kill the loosers from my last fort in person with a play now human.

It seemed saner then.

And I'm pretty sure those are actually clouds. Turning off weather seems to have killed them, but I could be wrong.
