Odd... the game says noone named Xarda'las Duv'ha'kar exists (or likely i'm doing something wrong because i have no idea how to run a fleet in STO).
Could you ask for a invite in game? Fleet name is Bay12.

From the social tab... but ok let's try a different way. What's your exact name in game?

For example mu characters name is Lordek@sonlirain.
Succes. The fleet is now 2 people strong.

I'm pretty sure I was in the fleet before, wasn't I? I'll check later tonight, but it was something like Aklyon@aklyonx, or Alterix.

Store anomaly things in your bank.
The only anomaly you should be interested for now are tier 1s so you can spam schematics (you have to make 150 of those costing 1500 of various tier 1 anomalies total)
The good news is that scanning tier 1 anomalies also gives you ALL types of rare anomalies so you have the rare matierials for crafting later.

Basically if you want to craft then explore the hell out od Delta Volanis Cluster. Ignore (unless doing a mission) unexplored planets and go for anomalies.

Do simple quests that reward dilithium ("explore new strange worlds" and "Asteroid mining") because you will need it later.

As an escort you might want to set your power into weapons so you can murder people before they murder you (escorts are DPS craft while cruisers are tanks).

I'm currently playing on Elite but played on advanced during leveling... sometimes lowering the difficulty to normal when got an "impossible" mission.

Thanks for the tips. That way I know I'm not doing something terribly wrong. :)
Still haven't played today but will, soon.
I don't know how team missions work nor what a team do, but if anyone wants to do something, I'm Gabeux@gabecarver (it's "<charname>@<account name>", right?) !

EDIT : By the way, one think I find interesting is that all the things that Angry Joe complained about, they seem to have fixed or implemented (like visiting the bridge, I guess). But they had 1 or 2 years to fix, but anyways.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Hmm.. I saw this in the Arc game library when I was trying Neverwinter, if I'm not mistaken. Neverwinter was about as cookie-cutter as you could get, the whole thing left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel physically ill when I think about it. I was considering giving this a try until I had that experience.

So nobody else is picking up that vibe from this game? Don't know if they're even made by the same folks, but Perfect World seems dubious at best. Like.. a collection of micro-transaction shops slathered in a wet coating of gameplay, divided into different genres to capture all of the demographics.

In any case, posting to watch.

Nope, I don't get that feeling. Which is curious. Also, I think the cash shop is "optional" really.
Maybe the older, max-level players here would have more to say :)

I can't say I've liked everything Perfect World has, the few I've tried. But STO doesn't give me the feeling you're talking about.

I am sure the shiny will wear off for me at some point, but the game feels so incredibly different from other MMOs I have played. The missions (at least at first) are scripted stories, I know other games have done this before but these are actually fun.

Granted I am very early in the game, so I can't have a real opinion yet, but I look forward to my next login to finish off some missions.

Its more likely everyone*, unless fleets work with everyone.

I think it's essentially optional, but you can use it even without paying a dime thanks to the dilithium exchange.
Only drawback is how long it takes to farm for something good on the market.

At least dilithium is nowhere near as bad as it was early last year. I remember a point where it was around 300~ dilithium per store credit.

Yup, I just got into my first instance. I wanted to know how it would play, but since I'm a meh level 10 I thought I would take a beating.
I did die twice, because people in my squad probably didn't know what they were doing just like me, but once I let my friendlies take hits instead of me (come on, I'm a little escort that can kill and die too quick), it went very well.

I like that at level 10 you can join a map with 20 random people and just watch a phaser shower.

I also saw that 1 ZEN = 135 Dilithium (lowest offer). From my first instance (took less than 10 minutes), I got 430 dilithium.
The only problem would be that you can only refine 8.000 Dilithium per day.
~60 ZEN per day maximum with the current offers.

EDIT: How funny that I'm the only dorfy-like guy around.
Everyone else has perfect-sized, sexy, awesome bodies. And no one has a beard.
I may be the only one with an epic beard in this virtual galaxy.
