Frumple, theres two things you can do with anomaly stuff:
1. Go to Memory Alpha (north a sector from Sol) and R&D ye some stuff using it. (For Starfleet. For klingons idk where you go)
2. Sell them on the exchange for energy credits. (prices are not individually, although you can search 'price per unit' to see whats the cheapest for the most units at once. It is for the entire set you put up for sale as a whole)

Hrg. I'll have to look into Memory Alpha again, then. Been twice, but other than making a couple dozen schematics (that I apparently can't use yet) all I got out of it was a few diplomacy XP quests (which I'm still not entirely clear what the point is beyond excusing some boring quests :P).

Then maybe selling, I'unno. Dumped like 120 or something anomalies into something the fleet was building. Probably rather do that than selling 'em if it comes up again... EC bank's doing well enough for what I've been doing so far.

I was going to check out the new addon.
But Perfect Word Ent had apparently decided that they don't really want any more of my money (or anyone else's from my region), and I have no access to the game's site now - even though I've previously played the game (since beta) and paid money for it.

Well... I could make an appeal, or use proxies and such, but I think I'll just say "Fuck you too, PWE".

I believe previous paying customers have an enhanced membership with certain perks over the free members. Not as good as the gold membership, but you have extra slots in your inventory and bank and whatnot.

I'm definitely interested in joining the fleet. I'm a Fed Human Science officer, and I restarted my character so I could min-max my stats to focus on defense and support. My endgame is getting one of those fancy temporal ships. I guess I could go sign on and see if I can grab an invite. My callsign is "Cretin@mynameisbucket" if anyone wants to send me one.

I also have a Rom-KDF Tactical character, but he's on the backburner. I discovered that the D'Deridex is the worst ship in the universe, so I have him running duty officer assignments until I can get another ship.

YOu use the schematics with more anomalies to make things in the other non-schematics tabs of general R&D, frumple.

Yesterday, finally customer support responded. They weren't so helpful, just told me to click Forgot password on cryptic, log in to PWE using the cryptic account, then link the accounts.

What I realized from some more experiments, is that it appears I have two accounts on Cryptic with the exact same username. And I was always logging to the wrong one because the passwords are the same and it took preference. It wasn't until I changed the password to something entirely different that I was able to access both accounts.

BUT, my PWE account is already linked to the account with the wrong password. And it won't let me reuse my emails, or something. Maybe I'll create a BS email, so I can change it the old PWE account, then make a new PWE account with my real email, then link it to the correct cryptic account.

Luckily it doesn't seem that I've used that PWE account for any other games, I hope...

What a mess. There's a database programmer in PWE / Cryptic that needs to be fired.

That is ... bizarre.

Of course considering some of the bugs they've introduced and taken their time fixing (or not fixed), I probably shouldn't be too surprised, but at least the quality is higher than certain other games and there aren't anywhere near as many bugs.

Well, I don't think they'll reply anymore or unlink the old PWE account, so I just went ahead and made a new one (after juggling emails so that my real email wasn't "already in use"). It's updating now.

EDIT: WHOA... 5 additional traits? That's 9 now... kinda sudden. And yes, apparently I had extra slots for more characters, I thought I had created a few but they're nowhere. Maybe their level was too low or I didn't actually play them... or I bought the slots but didn't actually make the characters. Odd.

Anyone feel like playing? McDoohan@GrooveTiger

I was confused and disappointed by the new trait system, since it seemed like they had set it up so that you no longer got all (the benefits from) your traits, but instead had to select only a few of them to get the benefits from, and if you decided you didn't like what you chose and wanted to change which ones you were using, it costs zen.

it costs zen.

And THAT is why they changed it. The same reason a new ship (that doesn't do a lot more than a normal one) can cost the equivalent of £30.

Of course, you don't really need the "+1" ships.
They give you a few trait respecs, if I remember right. Or maybe it's a Gold thing? I always have a hard time telling, since I'm a lifer from when the game came out...

I do have one free trait respect. I don't know if it's an old-character thing or if every character gets one.

What exactly is new about the trait system other than being able to respec?

Racial traits don't take up any of your slots anymore (i.e. Vulcans actually always have all their racials. LIke the famous nerve pinch).

The new system basically just lets you actually pick your traits with more flexibility, and the ability to respec them if you don't like them. It makes Aliens less metagamingly OP by being able to select a bunch of traits, and races get to use all their special traits now instead of having to use valuable trait slots on them.

Ok, what I remember, you used to get 4 traits. 2 were racial (you can't change them) and 2 were custom-selected on creation (or 3/1... I don't remember if Bite was optional on my Gorn, I'm pretty sure it was). If you chose alien, you could choose all 4 traits. You never gained any new traits.

But now, you have the same 4 traits, except one is basically "Your race name" and is fixed (and a more specific, instead of something like "Leadership" that anyone can choose), you still get 3 extra traits. Choosing "alien" gives you 1 extra trait and no "racial", so basically, 4 traits, same as before.

The only difference I can see is that you gain more traits as you level, up to 9 at level 50. And respec, which AFAIK wasn't even an option before. Well, and they removed some traits and added others it seems (if you had one of those you basically now got your slots back without paying for a respec).

I'm not sure what is worse in the system now. Did I miss something?

EDIT: also, I can't find the fleet.
