I've played on and off since it was launched, and I always enjoy the space combat (which is why I come back) ... but man, those reputation grinds just suck the fun right out the window. I just don't have the gaming stamina to put up with them, so I end up playing like 40 minutes at a time.

I do love fleet actions, though. Never tried an STF because they were Too Serious Sounding for me, and I'm very casual when I play it. Mostly went solo and did the public Fleet Actions ... actually, that's all I did. Occasional PvP while leveling.

What faction is the Bay12 fleet?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Most of my guys are KDF (and Rom-KDF), but I have a bunch of Feddie alts sitting at 50 and collecting dust I could play. I'll see about getting some spare time logging them in and deciding which one to join with. Never been in a fleet.

Crap, I can't login to my characters anymore. I had them on Cryptic, but now I can only get to PerfectWorld, which for some reason I used to have both at the same time with the same account name. In PW I had like, crappy abandoned characters, while on Cryptic I had even unlocked extra slots and had at least one level 50.

It's a mess, I've submitted a support ticket.

Oh so i decided to give it a go.

Romulan Engineer lvl 8.

I have no idea what i'm doing aside of randomly assigning skills (mostly into engineering because i'm an engineer... duh) and switching ship weaponry/systems with better versions as i get them.

Other than that i'm completely lost and just go from mission marker to mission marker.

PS: I might stop playing because i just don't find anything interesting to do for now but having a fleet would be nice.

Linking accounts was a nightmare for me. The system they have is pretty clunky; I had to make an alternate email address to get it to work, but I didn't go through support (maybe I should have). At least everything works now. Hope they help you out with it.

Tried playing my Fed characters for the first time in a long time last night. It was kind of funny ... I have no idea what I'm doing anymore. And I've got some pretty crap gear compared to my brand-new Romulan KDF guy somehow.

This game sure isn't for everyone. It's like a giant sandbox with lots of confusion mixed in -- spending skill points is intimidating since it's not cheap/easy to respec. But dumping lots of points into engineering skills is a good idea, so many good things there.

Unless you start doing Elite STFs, you can pretty much throw skill points around wherever, without running into any real issues. Normal setting makes the entire game pretty much a cakewalk. It's only an issue when you start doing Elites.

As a rule of thumb, don't get more then 6 ranks in a skill unless you really need it. For the cost of 6 to 9, you get a bigger boost of out 1 to 3, or 4 to 6, respectively. The last 3 ranks are just really for a skill you need that little extra push in.

And now i have to pick my allegiance... it's either psychopatic Klingons or the Liberals.
I'm stumped.

*kicks the thread back awake*

So, like... what do we do with the fleet stuff?

And any kinda' general advice? I've muddled my way past level 40 in a few days, but other than following the episodes as they come and occasionally doing fleet PvE stuff I'm... not really sure what I'm doing. Besides pewpewing at stuff, anyway, which is surprisingly satisfying for how simple it is. And stuffing my inventory/bank full of anomaly crap (which I'm still not entirely sure what to do with >_>) and lockboxes. And... and... is there anyway to play as the little purple kobold looking things that was in that one bar with the arena fight?

Also the lizard dude in the DS9's op room is hilariously tall. My dude only comes up his crotch. Crouch, and m'head comes up to his knee.
