"G-Dwarf"
When he's not signing work-orders he does building design, carpentry, masonry and a bit of consoler/pacifier on the side.

Eh, why not.  Mason/Building designer for me.  Always need one.

And I'm up on the No Magma challenge.  Though it does lead to interesting design choices.  Aquifer I can take or leave.  How big is the map going to be?  I recommend 3x3, to keep things moving.

And dammit there's no U.  ACK-i-zzar.  Everyone spells it wrong.

hehe Ill fix the typo, I also think the no magma challange sounds good, and as the cojoles is up for whatever and brauhm is up for whatever aslong as its challanging, it seems a good idea.

and 3x3 will mean any player regardless of ability will be able to play it without lag.

Cool, what guy would you like to be, we could probably do with another miner, or a brewe, but ultimately the choice is up to you :)

My dwarf will be a grower & herbalist = farmer. And I give my vote to no magma. 3 x 3 sounds good.

Wait, I'm confused.  Is this a community fortress now?  I like the idea of everyone running their own fortress from the same starting point, but if it's limited to only seven starting dwarves and other players get to decide what your dwarves will have, then it takes a lot of the creativity out of each person's hands right from the start.

the deal is that every player starts from the exact point, exact gear, exact same dwarves exact same area. Everyone is welcome to join, but only the first seven guys will get dwarves named after them and choose there skills.

Though you're opinions will still be considered for deciding the area.

you're welcome to join.

On the point of map, its decided no magma, but what other stuff do we want in, personally I was thinking try and get a terrifying woodland, with a border on a mountain, add a brook or river and we're good to go?

I'll make sure the mountain has HFS though, just no magma.

I genned a world to try and find such a place, first thing I noticed... No elves. absolutely no bloody elves anywere!

unfortunately one third of the world was water, which contained the majority of the maps evil zones.

I've managed to gen a world which is nearly all savage and desert/mountains. its got warlike goblins (the only race that can live comfortably in such a world) dwarves and humans, elves are dead. I've found two good areas in it so far.

the first is a 3x3 area with joyous scorching desert and a terrifying mountain, said mountain houses a underground lake.

The second is a 4x4 area with joyous scorching desert and terrifying mountain, said mountain houses
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and an underground lake

the one highlighted is the 4x4 area obviously, and you cans ee at the top the 3x3 area with its lake.
