You look a LONG time.

This is why I mod all the entity_default civs to live in CITY. So it's goddamn easy to find stuff.

Dwarf Mayors and kings randomly wander around in the mountain halls.

Elf druids stand around in in their forest retreats.

Goblin priests hang out at temples, but their demon leaders randomly wander their dark fortresses.

There's no easy way to find any of them, except looking for a purple dwarf or flashing elf.

Or an ampersand.

cchanging it so everyone lives in cities... does that mess up fortress mode?

Yaddy1: probably have to gen a new world. Not sure though. However, changing all civs to live in cities (minus kobolds) will make druids, kings, mayors, priests, and demons easy to find. They will be in the bar/meadhall/tavern or the keep or temple, depending on who it is.

dwarven mayors are all over, but the king or queen usually lives on the very bottom floor, somewhere in one of the rooms on the furthers down floor you can get to

as for elves, totally random

the main problem with finding dwarven leaders is that every step you take in every dwarven city you go to,

you get five billion repetitions of this:

The Antman punches the Dwarven Child in the upper arm, it is bruised!

five hundred billion pages every step.

Can't they get some freakin traps?

I once ran out of water and food trying to find the dwarven king. Found 10 children, one adult, and about 8 floors before I had to leave, otherwise I would've died.
