The incoming human diplomat's a .... Zombie

This is strange.  I've got a message that says

"A human diplomat from Dur Er has arrived."

I zoomed to the creature and see.... a zombie.
I was pretty sure previous merchants don't look like zombies...
I tot it was a tileset problem, and did a thorough check on both bitmaps and tile data text.  Yup, only 2 instances of reference to that tile particular tile:

I guess since diplomat is not specialized, it used the standard zombie tile...

But zombie?? Have I been trading with an undead kingdom all along??  *shocking discovery*

no wonder the zombies lack brains... coming to dwarves for brains.... maybe in the next version with AI upgrade... LOL

I don't know... I could see this being really cool to mod in. A butcherable product "brains". Completely unuseable to the Dwarves themselves, but trade 'em to zombies for whatever crap they bring. They rip down about 50 trees on the way in for a barrel of brains... they keep all the gold bars and nuggets from their kills to trade for brains... they learn (with their brains) that if they don't out-and-out kill the dwarves, they'll gladly slaughter everything on the map to collect the brains for gold or iron.

The biggest problem would be how slow the zombie caravan comes.

so im still unclear.  is this a tile mismatch issue because there isnt a diplomat tile anymore?  there used to be.

or is this a wierd feature glitch where he is a diplomat from an undead civ?  i thought undead civs were not back in the feature list yet, but if they are, he could legitamately be a zombie.

Although I can't swear that it is not the fault of the gfx tile, I can testify that I have tried to my utmost ability and understand of gfx tiles to check all the settings.  As far as I can tell, it's not a tile prob... so it's a zombie.  Is there any way to check via some screens?  I can't find any in the game that can testify against it's livingness.

EDIT: there IS a chance that it is a bug...

Press 'k' and have the marker over the zombie's tile?

actually, tile errors should show up in the error log text file.  i remember seeing errors in there on the newer versions when i tried to use the tilesets designed in older versions.  the tile sets still work, but there are a bunch of errors for things that have changed since the jobs became more specific.

but yeah, using 'k' to examine the little dude (or 'v' even) should give you some details on wither hes a zombie or not.  skeletons and zombies usually say "skeletal human" or "zombie human" instead of "human" or whatever.  use undead animals as a reference for how they should display

I'm pretty sure it's just a graphics set error.

Undead in DF are automatically hardcoded to go for your brains.

Also, all the ungfx-tiled shopkeepers, priests, and other stuff turn to random crap in my graphics pack so you're not the only one with this issue. If you're using an old graphics set, that's your problem. Very few of the graphics packs have every single creature/entity tiles, so some default to strange things.

I've seen a few human shopkeepers (embarked in a town) who use the graphic for leopard. There were three of them, I think. In the same map. It was somewhat eerie.
