Are yo usure you've made a "clean" install"? Anyway, try removing all files from "/data/objects/" (leave the folder though) before you generate a world. Because there's NO pig tail in the mod. It looks like some leftover.

How do I do to make it to work:
1) Download http://bay12games.com/dwarves/df_28_181_40d.zip
2) Download http://dffd.wimbli.com/download.php?id=502
3) Unpack the 1st folder you've downloaded
4) Unpack the 2nd folder you've dowloaded in the game folder, replacing "raw" and "data" folders.

It just worked for me.

If it doesn't work, explain step-by-step how do you install your game.

A few tips if you play fortress mode (also they are very important if you are going to play with zombie addon): train wrestlers/marksmen from the start, at least embark with one and make some of the first immigrant wave. Creatures are usually quite nasty so it's better to shoot them.

Why don't you try? :) Some armor is faction-specific. You can make your faction-appropriate armor and weapons.

I have and I can't find most of it, is the Vault suit made from thread?

By the way been playing your mod for about a day and I really like it, only things that need changing are all hard scriped into dwarf fortress. You still adding to this?

I am not adding anything now because pretty much everything from the Fallout games and more is already in, so minor additions which break savegames for those who play make not too much sense.

However if someone can propose a really good idea with nice content I can add it in.

I love this mod  ;D  You don't know just how good it is until the first time cannibals sneak into your fully-sealable vault (I was unsealed after the last Zombie siege to try to collect any and all supplies left behind in the merchant carnage), they take out your gunners, and you need to turn your woodcutters into sawyers.  Many, many cannibal limbs flying everywhere while you scramble to get the dwellers inside and hit the lever to seal up.

Epic.

Hey, I'm glad you like it :). It even made me to start to play it again, a quite entertaining story you have here. I've managed to install it wrong first (hehe), but well, now I have a lot of ammo for my sniper rifle and do missions for mutant masters.

I'm in the progress of organizing my mod database. Chucking out old mod versions, tidying up, stockpiling graphic sets, the works ... I downloaded the 1.41 version and zombie addon and I thought, why not take it for a spin? I copy the mod folders over, but DF refuses to start. The error said that the "index" file (the one in the data folder) was either corrupted or missing.

So, I re-installed DF 40d11, recopied the folders and ... nothing. Same error. So, I tried some noob-bughunting and I replaced the index file from the mod with the one from a vanilla DF. The mod actually launched when I did that.

So, is this a bug? Or is my pc to blame for the problem?
