I understand being proud of what you do...
« on: August 06, 2008, 09:30:31 pm »

My hunter just killed an alligator with an axe. Then he did something strange.

He put the corpse at the foot of his bed. For what?

I'd imagine as a 'trophy' but I've never seen it before.

Weird.  Do you have a refuse stockpile?  Maybe he killed it and then had nothing better to do with it, so he propped it up next to his bed. :P

I'm glad all the DF players are not living in one district. It'd be the most dangerous district for the whole world.
Actually, it'd be the most dangerous district in hundreds of thousands of worlds, starting with 'Xah Rabin' The Dimension of Omen.

Can't blame the little weirdo for wanting to beautify(?!) his little marble cell if you're not going to have it smoothed out for him, can we? :D

This has happened to me.  My hunters kept bringing deer corpses to their beds, but then I realized that I did not have a butchery or a refuse stockpile.  If you build either of those, the corpse should be butchered so you can claim the lovely meat, bones, skull, and skin.  Make sure you have a dwarf with the "Butchery" skill enabled, though.

I have 2 refuse stockpiles, and a garbage zone over a chasm. My hunter is also a butcher, and I had already set up a butcher's shop.

Singaporean? Malaysian? Or just grammatical slips?

I think right now your hunter is too busy hunting to butcher stuff.

This is a... silly question, but: did your hunter finish building the butcher's shop yet?

Are you saying that I am making grammatical slips?

The butcher shop was built.

After my hunter left it in her room, she went out and was attacked by 5 fire imps. She killed four, but was killed by the last one  :-[ Her hunting dog avenged her though.

After she died, a hauler put the carcass on the refuse stockpile. I guess what umiman was right, she was just too busy being awesome to care about cutting up alligators.

You did ask...

"I guess what umiman was right,"

"and I had already set up a"

"For what?"

No offense, just curious, since the last one's slang where I come from.

First isn't a grammar error, the second isn't wrong in any way, and the third is only if your being really picky. If you are, then techincally speaking eyeball isn't a real word.

Wait, you haven't heard? Apple is releasing the new Apple IBall, its essentially just like a normal ball produced by other companies (e.. soccer), and although it's off far less quality, its made by Apple! It MUST be cool, plus they will release like 30 new releases every day ranging from 'increased storage' and 'smaller case' to 'video playback capability' and 'moar cowbell'.

Hold on... what am I talking about again?

That's funny, I heard that the iBall is actually Apple's latest testicle replacement device.  It's a small round surface that's actually a multi-touch screen which you can use to surf the net, download songs directly from iTunes, play music, and watch Quicktime videos. The problem is that the battery life only lasts seven hours, but you can charge it by vigorously shaking a rod that's connected to a dynamo which recharges it. But if you shake it too much, it'll give out and you can't use your iBall for awhile.

Sounds great! I wouldn't normally be swayed by Apple's (frankly, rubbish) advertising or by anyone else attempting to use a lowercase "I" as some sort of appellation (whoops) denoting "coolness", but this is really ingenious.

I can't wait to get my hands on a new iBall (or two)!
