Yeah, fitting song. You're probably going to get some non-DF players going to it and flaming you because they don't know what it is and are dicks, unfortunately. But, I could be wrong.

What I don't understand, I've yet to have the magma pipe problem, is why doesn't the magma fall into the bottomless pit? It starts right above it.

Also, movie looks fine if you click on high quality

Aha, it does look better.

Song is from LOTR when they're inside Mount Doom, "The End of All Things."

The magma did fall into the pit and it eventually stopped. Not before a bunch of monsters residing in the pit were torched, though :D

Can we please not have this bug fixed.
We always wanted erupting mountains so lets just call it an awesome new undocumented feature. A 'hidden fun feature'

It does, the pit just isn't uniform, so some of it spills over the edges and catches on ledges and stuff. Plus, i think the magma is generated similarly to the plus the magma probably flows out over itself on the way down, so it spreads.

You could have done a good hermit fort there, you still had the axe and it was your cook/brewer who survived. Once the magma cleared up some more you could have gotten him to chop down some trees and gather some plants maybe fish some turtles out of the pools. Build a small shack out of wood with a bed table and chair, train the surviving dog(s) for some added protection, brew gathered plants, maybe start a berry farm. Then produce enough wood/bone/shell crafts to buy a pick at the next caravan (or trade the anvil).

But noooo, you had to light him on fire. You could at least have tried to spell out your name with his smoke trail...
