7th Malachite, Midsummer of 215
Overlord's log

A while ago, one of the new drone mechanics broke into one of the unused crafting stations, appropriated materials without permission and proceeded to work them into something mind-numbingly useless. He made a felsite axe. No, not even an axe. A model axe. A model axe that I have half a mind to throw into the magma lake along with its creator. But it is a high-quality model axe. Perhaps someone will trade for it. Either way, the axe has been placed in storage.
As for the drone mechanic, I believe that recycling is too good for him. I have ordered a retractable catwalk to be attached to the wall facing the magma pipe. He will be dropped without ceremony into molten rock, and he will know that he will not be even be remade in any shape or form. Such is the fate of those who dare steal from Steelgripped. From ME.

End of line.

3rd Limestone, Early Autumn of 215
Overlord's log

I am displeased. The drone mechanic I had dropped into the magma pipe walked back inside, glowing with heat, but otherwise unharmed. I underestimated the heat resistance of the common robot. No matter. I have other plans for him.
I've ordered the installation of a multi-story trash compactor which should take care of our little...rogue. As well as all other scum and junk that undoubtedly accumulates in a Doom Fortress. Aqizzar gave me strange looks, as if I wasn't entitled to dispensing punishment! If he wasn't such a capable forgemaster, I would have him thrown into the garbage compactor with the rest of them. Fortunately he hasn't got much influence, not even among his metalworkers. He is not a threat...yet.

End of line.

You made your robots so durable they can swim in magma?  Ha.  Mutiny is all the more likely now that the units know you can't kill them.

Especially if a glitching robot finds the administrative override codes.  It could force your others to allow themselves to be disassembled.

Fortunately we have an alternative which will not be stopped by mere heat resistance.

Trash compactor.

So the whole progression from fire drop to final execution looks kind of like this.  Cool.

15th Moonstone, Early Winter of 215
Overlord's log

After some difficulties installing the trash compactor, the two sentenced thieves of fortress property (the Drone Mechanic and an aquatic protein harvester) were placed inside and destroyed succesfully. I took the liberty of recording the event while personally activating the disposal sequence. It will be treasured forever in my personal archives. I have also drawn up a map of the surrounding areas as well as Steelgripped itself. This should be kept secure so as to not let any outsiders know the extent or lack of defences.

End of line.

Wishes to report for administrative duties,
simply wishes to serve with detailed stock reports and/or efficient processing of work orders from the Overlord.

Mmm, cozy government job. ^.^

Failing that, a gunbot would be nice. He sees trouble. He shoots it. Problem solved.
