15th Moonstone, Early Winter of 215
Overlord's log, addendum

Coelobot just left the list of immigrants on my desk, since I can't be bothered to keep track of them all myself.
Looking at some of the descriptions I spotted a few individuals that could work very well in management. I already have Coelobot doing my bookkeeping, although I could assign someone to take care of taking care of my work orders. I have enough crap to do myself strategizing and occasionally listening to some idiot complain about their bad morale or something unnecessary like that. I need to start throwing people into the trash compactor regularly if they keep up with this. I could lower my workload even further by assigning someone else to negotiate with the supply caravans in my place!
I guess I should order that damned Discobot excavate him an office. I'll propably relocate it once the topside compound gets a major overhaul, but we need much more materials prepared as well as a dedicated workforce. I rather like the idea of an elevated office with crystal glass windows, though. I wonder if I could get someone else to take the secondary position of Mayor. I'd rather not have to waste time listening to complaints and talk to diplomats.
I'm going to call this... U.R.I.S.T in for an interview. If he seems competent enough, I'll make him the work manager. I guess I should hint at what will happen if I ever catch him making additions or changes to my work orders. That should keep him careful not to do anything stupid, at least for a while.

End of line.

((Oh, and Chaotic is fine. The ogres got intercepted by Poltifar's killbot squad and hacked to pieces.))

((EDIT: Whoops, spoke too soon. Chaotic just got jumped by a new group of ogres and violently dismantled.))

Too bad for him
Well if you don't mind, I might just have a legendary pump bot -> bladebot (with chainsaw blade)
Call him chaosbot.

I actually renamed an existing engraver BeepBoop. We've got plenty of unnamed robots running around, doing faceless minion tasks.

BeepBoop is beepboop pleased, and hope beepboop his various engravings beepboop of our kind blowing beepboop holes in other beepboop races with beepboop our superior railguns beepboop will improve the beepboop morale of the beepboop scrap metal peasants beepboop.

U.R.I.S.T exists only to serve fortress efficiency.

Signing work orders improves efficiency.

Under staffing administrative positions is inefficient.

U.R.I.S.T can not tolerate inefficiency.

Allowing U.R.I.S.T to handle administration was a efficient decision by the Overlord. U.R.I.S.T will comply.

Beepboop is pleased beepboop that you find his beepboop form cute beepboop. However, beepboop, Beepboop reminds you beepboop that perceiving objects to beepboop be cute is an beepboop attitude of the beepboop lesser races and such beepboop attitudes will be beepboop rectified with the beepboop application of live beepboop railgun ammunition beepboop to your beepboop CPU casing beepboop.

As clarification, robots 'reproduce' by assembling a new frame and then a number of robots (usually two) link their CPUs to the new one and upload randomized parts of their programming into the 'child'. This explains the following insight:

And since people seem to like our two new additions, here are their profiles. I'm way too lazy to post all of the named bots' profiles.

Also, do people want me to keep the robots with three eyes or switch them to two? It's mostly a matter of flavor, really.

Three eyes beepboop are far more beepboop than nessesary beepboop. Also, Beepboop beepboop is suprised beepboop that he has beepboop been assigned beepboop a spousebot beepboop. I hope that beepboop is some form of breeding program beepboop designed by beepboop our wonderful and maevolent beepboop leader beepboop, and not just beepboop some form of beepboop administrative error beepboop.

Also, I beepboop have suddenly encountered beepboop a strange urge beepboop to defile our wonderful beepboop, sterile walls beepboop with a picture of beepboop what I am informed beepboop is a donkey beepboop, one of the lesser beepboop races beepboop. I shall beepboop have this beepboop processing error beepboop logged with our beepboop Sysadmin U.R.I.S.T beepboop as soon beepboop as possible beepboop.

16th Granite, Early Spring of 216
Overlord's log

Ah, here it is. I've been looking for my recorder for weeks.

Today marked the day of yet another seeming malfunction. One of Aqizzar's forgebots just rushed into the foundry without a work order and proceeded to slam aluminum bars into the forge. I was about to negotiate a deal with the supply caravan and he suddenly burst into the trade depot, snatced some flexible organic covering and rushed off, screaming static. He was later spotted running out of the general storage with ornamental stones in his grippers.
Everyone knows my policy on unauthorized use of resources. Aqizzar is thankfully not making any excuses for him, AS HE SHOULDN'T. The drones report that he is mostly by himself, which propably means he still has little influence with the foundry workers. He is not a threat, and thus safe. For now.
Work is continuing on roofing over the compound, transforming into a bunker. I've also planned to relocate the SysAdmin's office to overlook the trade depot and sub-level entrance. Because I have less work to do, I felt particularly generous when laying out the office. It will have a clear glass window, and its position near the armory and practice area guarantees immediate response to invaders. I should propably have a training center set up in the compound, but space is a problem. We will have to construct a new wall around the bunker and..What is that? WHAT IS THAT?
*audible, metal clunk*
<log paused>

<log resumes>
...I am at a loss here as to what to do with the forgebot. He just slammed a...humongous aluminum blade on my desk. The first two made small model axes. This one says he couldn't find big enough logs in the storage for the handle. This is...well...I just don't know what to say. It's not practical to use as an axe, but a blade of this size could easily have other uses, like base defence. As a reward, I will overlook the maker's appropriation of Steelgripped resources and let him continue his work. The near-perfect design of this ridiculously large blade shows that he's also quite a masterful producer of weapons. Arms of this high quality will surely benefit a Doom Fortress as succesful as Steelgripped.

End of line.

Surley, beepboop this blade is beepboop a sign that clean beepboop sterile alluminium beepboop will prove to be beepboop better than unclean beepboop impure copper beepboop.
