Refactoring of code, possible (limited) editing of existing world_gen.txt maps, sliders to set world minimums and stop the infinite reject problem, support for more than just 24bit images, and stuff.  After that, I'm likely to go back to the language generator I never finished.

Sounds good. Will you add an option for keeping the settings from an other param set? It would be nice to be able to overwrite the map without having all the other options overwritten as well.

Oh. And you should check which file the settings are written to. I accidentally wrote my settings to dwarffortress.exe. I don't think that was smart..

For some reason I keep getting "no controlable civ" map rejections. I don't know why, there's plenty of mountains in my map for dorfs.

Are they non-evil, non-savage?  It's hard to control the evilness (if not downright impossible), but make sure that there are low to mid savage mountainous regiouns (and remember, dwarves only settle on the outskirts).

They seem to be normal.

Try turning down the number of civs.  Imported maps seem to come in at 50, which is a bit high for some sizes.

British Isles:

Toady fixed the half-evil ocean bug in the last update, I think.

Would it be possible to include temp and rainfall data as well? The tundra in Cornwall bothers me... Nevermind, I'll just use the program. <-tard
Great utility btw.

Well I tried to add in temp/rainfall maps to the british isles map successfully, but now df always rejects during world gen saying: No controllable entity definitions available. I've tried changing around the savagery/good/evil stuff to get it to work but no luck so far. Any ideas for how to get it to gen the world?

You need non-savage, non-evil regions.  Evil-ity is impossible to control, likely whatever causes it is taking over all the mountain-non-mountain borders.

Also, oddly, try reducing the number of civs your placing on the map.  Sometimes that helps.

I've uploaded an updated version which fixes a few dangerous bugs and makes it .NET 2.0 compatible.

Please report bugs and feature requests here, or I'll end up making the bugs bigger for the next release.

Wait... The map is fucked up looking, something has gone terribly wrong: http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=worldmapregion110501km9.png
When I gen a world with the elevation only this doesn't happen.

Mind, that is evil ocean.  As long as an elevation-only map still gens an ocean there I don't see a problem.
