Number of reclaim dwarves?
« on: August 04, 2008, 03:28:34 pm »

Is it possible to reduce the number of reclaim dwarves? The game gives me more than I can easilly handle. Would lowering the population cap work, or will I just have to... get rid... of the extra dwarves?

Altar to Armok.  Problem solved.  Bonus points if you have water running through and can keep it permanently red.

I'm glad all the DF players are not living in one district. It'd be the most dangerous district for the whole world.
Actually, it'd be the most dangerous district in hundreds of thousands of worlds, starting with 'Xah Rabin' The Dimension of Omen.

Reclaim numbers seem to vary.  If you end up reclaiming the same place multiple times, you get less dwarves.  I don't know what all affects it.

i think it depends on the space inside/monsters
that may change depending on when you abadon and when you reclaim

Whut? I got ten more dwarves each time I re-reclaimed. Dunno what version that was, but it was a while ago.

I accidentally embarked before I was ready.  I immediately abandoned the fortress.  I then reclaimed, not knowing that I wouldn't have any kind of selection of skills/supplies.  Didn't matter. I showed up with 30 dwarves.

I found the same. I found that on my first reclaim of my first fort, I had seven dwarves to kill off; the next two or three(?) reclaims I had double this; and perhaps double again after that. Perhaps even as many as 36 dwarves at embarkation on my most recent reclaims at the same site.
