How is the update for this coming along (I know the answer to this, it was more of a wish then a question, I would really appreciate a version that could save the maps or even export a copy to .bmp or .png.

Please... somebody? anybody?

I was working on it, and I plan to work again. But... I have no idea when it will happen... :P
But it is always better to hear that someone is still interested in it ;)

I haven't read the whole thread, but has someone requested that you output in the wiki format too? (http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Template:RT)

THat'd be handy as the wiki format is kinda hard to remember

I got quite rusty in my Java programming skills and am generally lazy. ;)

It seems to be a lot of interest in update of this project recently, and I got quite a few ideas for features to implement, so I have quite a good reason to continue it, and I plan too. I will post if I make any progress. ;)

I started my own similar program, in C, for the tacticus game. Started yesterday with copy-paste from other projects, and really gotten somewhere.

Reminds me: need to continue work on having the colour data stored in a tile for storing the current edit data, rather than as a refrence to the colour grid.

I'm curious, where did you learn java paint methods?
Because I could probably use that myself.
