Any other Megaten fans?

Persona 3 FES is $30 and Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne just reprinted recently so you can get it for $50 instead of $200 now! I need a new copy : /

I've heard that a slightly tweaked SMT Nocturne is going to be included with Devil Summoner 2 when it comes out, but I don't know if that's true.

I've only played Persona 3 but that got me interested in the series.  I have Persona 3 FES but I haven't beaten the original yet and am really far into it so I felt I should try to do that before starting it.  I really like the atmosphere pretty much everything, but the grinding can get really bad.

I played Shin Megami Tensei and beat it, and Shin Megami Tensei II and got stuck. AGTP translations, of course. Digital Devil Saga 2 is great, and Persona 3: FES is all sorts of fun.

Nice Avatar, by the way. He-ho.

If I had the fifty laying around I would grab Nocturne right away. It's not a sequel to SMT:II apparently, but still.

Persona 3 FES is the same game as Persona 3, but with a bunch of additional content and an extra act at the end. If you have it, play it! Yeah, the only real failing for the series as a whole is that it is nearly mandatory to grind for experience. I think P3's dungeon-crawler setup helped make that whole process more enjoyable than it is in some games tho. If you want to play anything else in the series, I would recommend staying away from the previous Persona titles for now. They are very expensive to purchase and quite incredibly difficult. I've never even come close to beating Persona 2. P4 is on it's way soon!

SMT and SMT2 are hard. I applaud you. Yeah, Nocturne isn't a continuation of that storyline, but it has many of the same themes and design philosophies. Plus it's great to play an RPG where the world is destroyed in the first 10 minutes.

Played them all... Couldn't get hooked at all... Altho, I like the last one where you play in the school and go into random dungeons at midnight. Just couldn't get hooked.

I know FES is the same, but I want to finish my current game then transfer the save for a new game +.

I've only played some translations of the first two for the SNES, and I'm stuck on  both of those.  Fun games, but I haven't touched them in a long time.  Besides the fact I don't have a PS[Anything other than X], I'm not very interested in modern JRPGs to begin with.  I feel like they lost their charm when they moved into the 3rd dimension.

SMT really murdered me, but I found SMT2 to be a lot easier, mostly. I kept spamming Attack-Up moves for a couple battles, and really pumped out ridiculous damage. There's just one boss keeping me back, though...

Indeed. I just played a translation of an NES JRPG called Chaos World. Hard, and rather grindy at times, but it was so far ahead for its time... a LOT of characters to recruit, jobs you can send them out on, and the fact that the battles were controlled by giving general orders to the group. That was neat.
