Where can find Drunks or an inn?
« on: August 01, 2008, 07:43:38 am »

I'm looking all around town for some stupid Drunks that don't exist, the wiki states there at an inn but where the hell is it? (and what does it look like?) I'm really pissed off that the only thing I could recruit was an eleven-year-old Elf slave. Also I keep asking warriors to join me and they refuse, am I  doing something wrong or is it the game?

Edit:
How can I choke or break bones (or any other possible thing) in wrestling?
Can I make a house or a storage like place to put my stuff? (secret hideout)

Thanks in advance,
~Pie

P.S. Can I recruit stuff other than warriors? (Like fishermen)
P.P.S. I have a human character.

There were drunks, I don't know if they still exist, but after that last patch it was changed so that all the peasants actually have jobs.

And only certain warriors will join you, you just have to look and keep asking everyone you come up to, maybe they'll join.
Usuaully when you ask them of their proffesion they will say what they do, and if they say "Ive been looking for something more exciting" or something like that then he'll come with you.

To choke you must grab the opponent's throat, then you should get the option to choke then strangle. And to break bones you have to grab onto a limb or parts of a limb and then you should get the option to "lock" then after that "Break"

And no secret hideouts yet, But I think it's in one of the Arcs or Bloats that toady is developing.

I've only seen one Drunk in 39x.  He was a dwarf.  When he came with me he died in the first ambush.  One odd thing: I looked at his legends entry there was nothing special, but when I asked a child about the surroundings he thought the drunk was an important enough feature of his town to warrant mention.

Well, he died... That's why he is special.

If your highest skill level is lower than their they will refuse, just train more.
I find new armed companions much better than those drunks.

The wiki means the mead hall, this is the building with the M symbol on a city map, it has tables and beds inside and there's a leader in it (before 39+ it was a mayor, not it's a military leader). You appear inside of it when you go in a city from the global map if you're friendly.

No, don't you see? It was the king in disguise! Quick, search the immediate area for HFS!

Well if you raid a goblin fortress you can save the prisoner children and bring them with you...just don't fight a cyclops with them...also..I just tried fighting a demon at a dark fortress...it didn't work out...more training..sigh.

It's only possible by modding currently.

I know that, I just can't figure out what tags I need. In dwarf mode its just a simple [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] tag here you need a few, but I can't figure out which and the wiki doesn't say anything. (except for a [ADVENTURE_TIER = #] or something)

Try the [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] tag for playable goblins and kobolds.

Put [ADVENTURE_TIER:4] under goblins in your entity_default.txt in the raws folder and generate a new world.

Put [ADVENTURE_TIER:4] under goblins in your entity_default.txt in the raws folder and generate a new world.
If I recall correctly, generating a new world isn't necessary.

I tested, works without new world or deleting of objects. So, just stick [ADVENTURE_TIER:4] to goblins, start DF and you're ready to go.
