The reason I posted this is because I really want to play Berserker a game being made by THD
and they need a C/C++ programmer to help make it.

If it offends people it will be in there.

Unfortunately everything I know about C is self-taught and I am very lazy.
And there are probably a few million people out there that could do that at least twice as well as I could.

Ah, so it's the 'Publicity by Controversy' angle rather than the 'Publicity by Being a Good Game' schtick.

Controversy is the new black.

I can imagine the level design and playable characters:

1: Jesus's crucifixion (RTS romans vs. christians)
2: Westboro Baptist Church (william zantzinger)
3: Stonewall Inn, NY (FPS police with squadmates)
4: Berlin comedy club in 1940 (rhythm game playing an anti-semitic comedian)
5: NYC (commercial flight sim)
6: Blacksburg, Virginia (seung-hui cho, FPS)
7: Lorraine Motel. Memphis, Tennesee (james earl ray, first person sneaker)

Quote from: Transhuman Design's About page
The philosophy of Transhuman Design is that games are a perfect medium for expressing ideas and emotions, much like art. Rarely in the past has a computer game successfully encouraged the exploration of the human condition, and it is the aim of Transhuman Design to create games which challenge the established norms of the gaming industry and culture. Now is the time for computer games to transcend mear entertainment value and it is our mission to create games which challenge the established roles of interactive entertainment.

Ah yes, exploring the human condition by killing, beating, shitting, and sodomizing. Truly, this is art in its purest form.

Hell, I'd play that.

Odd how if they had taken it a step back and stuck with disemboweling and severing limbs, I would have actually wanted to play this.

You've never disemboweled an enemy with a pair of pants and wished you could defecate into the wound?

So I guess you've never wanted to play a sandbox dragon flight sim where you get bonus points for crapping on straw huts and putting out flaming villagers by urinating on them?

Also, note the order of the actions:

Quote
anal rape, defecation, urination, ejaculation, and savage beatings.

It's as if he was mentally running through a typical Wednesday afternoon at his grandparents' house when he was writing it.

"Alright grandson, you can have less savage beatings today, but as a trade-off we expect you to take more anal rape or urination. Your choice."

Sure.  Why the hell do people find this shit so fascinating?  It's a mystery isn't it?  I think you probably failed to sense sarcasm in this case though.

From one of the interviews, it sounds like they are making this game to protest the weird Australian ratings and whatnot. A worthy cause, but I don't think they really need to go all-out offensive to do this. At least some of it is "HEY WE'RE EDGY GUYS".

And if you're right about the last part, they're laying it on pretty damn thick on that about page. It sounds like pretty genuine "GAMES = ART" stupidity.
