Generally bleeding stops in a few turns. However, you could die in those turns.

Bite your nails and wait a few turns.

If your throat has been cut out, you're going to die.  No getting past it.

Better luck next time.

If you were Macgyver you could make a throat out of a hollowed out twig. What's your Macgyver skill? You'd better hope its legendary.

Edit the raws to give yourself [NO_BLEED]?

Won't take effect until you either make a new character or generate a new world, can't remember which.

Sorry, lad, you're doomed. Nobody can survive having their throat torn out. You uh, sorta need it to breathe and send lots of blood through. :P

You don't need to generate a new world. Creature raws/body tweaks work fine on-line.

I didn't try to give "NOBLEED" to a mortally wounded adventurer... Hmm.. Nice idea to try.

Hmm. Wonder if that will come up on the legends screen?

"[insert adventurer name] has been bleeding to death for 2 months. Wait, what?"

It should still counts as a mortal wound, giant cave spiders have been known to bleed to death when their entrails shoot out.

Well, I don't think the game has a way of saying "The Giant cave spider has died after having the majority of it's bodily fluids and organs fall all over the floor" yet. So bleeding to death is about as good as it will come

Why wouldn't they?  They bleed just like most things, aside from [BLOODTYPE:W].

There is a difference between some kinds of mortal wounds, and some are more survivable than others.

Neck loss and heart puncture make you bleed nonstop, which is guaranteed death. You can't even Travel away, since you're bleeding your name out over the earth and all that.

I've never had an adventure have their guts removed without falling unconscious and having their heads bashed in, so I don't know about the fatality of that.

However, I did have a swordsman get a lung punctured by a naked mole rat, and despite the claim of 'Mortal Wound', it apparently would have taken him eons to die, considering I was able to kill the mole rat in question and it's two siblings, stagger outside, wander off a good while, and the only thing that seemed to be happening was that I was getting Winded a lot. I assume that it'd just get gradually worse and I'd eventually suffocate, but I just Traveled away and fully healed.

As long as it doesn't cause non-stop bleeding, it's apparently survivable if you can get enough breathing room to Travel away.

Brilliant quote.

Guts-hanging-out syndrome will lead to certain death, through the same means as throat removal and heart scrambling; blood loss.

Lung punctures are only fatal if the character has a relatively low toughness rating.  Get tough, and you can shrug off a lung wound.  Just don't lose the other one.  Every other organ is expendable, even the stomach.

Albeit with the amount of vomiting produced by a stomach wound, the throats should be burnt away, creating a mortal wound from that...
