[39d-e?] Rain stopped to fill ponds.
« on: July 24, 2008, 01:54:04 pm »

Hot, savanna-like embark area. There is a volcano crater here, a small brook and   many ponds. Od course, when the summer came, the ponds has dried up. Then the rain came and they filled with water again (for a short time). But when the next rain came, it appeared only as a message - there were no raindrops visible. It didn't fill any of the ponds for even a moment. The next ones failed to do this too - some of them appeared again only as a message ("It has started raining"). Interestingly enough, there is one, very small pond which doesn't even dry up.

Save.

I must be missing something, but I just read that you are in a hot, savanna like biome... and you are complaining about the lack of rain?

EDIT: VVVV I've played a lot of maps, and I have never encountered a monsoon season.

I think he is complaining about the lack of rain after the "It has started raining" message.

And most savanna's have a rainy season.

Measuring the amount of rainfall by "It has started raining" frequency, my dwarves indeed live in a very moist region.

As for now, I had a "proper" rain again. After a year. Then the pools dried up again and there was another fall with no drops.

What biome is the center of your map?  Is it raining there?  The announcements respect the center of the map, but the rainfall will be distributed according to the state of each individual tile in your world map area.  It could also be a bug of course, and it is confusing either way.

Savanna. There is a bit of mountains in the left part of the map, so maybe that's the problem.
