My adventurer just went stark raving mad.
« on: July 23, 2008, 09:57:07 pm »

I... am not kidding.

At all.

I can upload a save.  It actually said, "blah blah has gone stark raving mad!"

And then had the explanation mark flashing.

Then I walked up to a river and fell in.

And am drowning.

Any suggestions for how to get out?  I want to retire this guy in a town badly.

Edit:  No seriously, is it normal to walk off a cliff without any indicators?  I mean, I pressed the button towards it and he just jumped in the water.  Didn't have shift, or ctrl, or alt or anything pressed.

Check the wiki on this (search insane), its possible to make your adventurer insane by starving and tiring him out. The only consequence is the onw you said about not having to alt move off cliffs. Fast travelling should cure you.

I got caught in a goblin tunnel, that was very long and went through the mountain.  I ended up running out of water and almost running out of food; the only thing that saved me was drinking blood (Which you can do when you are dehydrated).  Also, my guy got drowsy, but sleeping didn't fix it.  Is that a bug?

But... Wouldn't make drinking blood make you even more dehydrated? There is a lot of salt/sodium in blood...

Well, they drank their own horses' blood, while riding, so it might not really count as vampiring. Or maybe it does.

As long as whatever whoever you're drinking is less dehydrated than you are, it should be fine.

Blood would be isotonic (equal concentration) to your own bodys conditions in most cases so drinking blood should be fine...

Ever been to hospital and had those little drips in your arm? Well those are isotonic to your blood and they succesfully keep you hydrated so the same should apply to blood.

Im so boring its interesting :D

Mongols mixed the blood with horse milk.

Sometimes they even fermented it.

Yum.

It's a pity it's an absolete tradition...
My wife is a direct mongolian descendant.

She drinks my blood pretty good though... (Duh)

The problem is osmoses. Long story short, salt seeps into cells diplacing the water. The blood also gets digested, and that needs water.
