Got your PM and I feel like an ass for ignoring this thread after promising to keep it alive.  I will download the save and start my turn this very night.  I was looking for something to waste some time on anyway.

Eternal Halls 4 eva.

You man me both, man.
I think I had a turn I never showed up for back there.

Anyways, if you guys will forgive me that slight maybe you could add me to the player queue? Maybe drop a PM my way once it's my turn?

I don't think Dadamh is actually here or updating the list anymore, so just grab a save whenever.  There won't be a rush.

On that note, I'm getting about 3 FPS with nothing special going on.  10 in-game days took more than an hour.  Which means I've got a combined 30+ hours of letting the game run until I'm done with the save.  Holy fuck.

I modded the dwarves to [SPEED:0] just so that they could get things done in a reasonable time frame.

Eep... it was around nine when I was playing. I don't envy having to play through that horribleness.

But - Just posting to show that I'm following the exploits, and am ready to continue when nessesary.

Should we drop the popcap?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Whatever is causing the lag has to be destroyed. Atom-smash the stone, halve the population, deconstruct the monuments, do whatever it takes to save the fortress.

It's flows mostly.  We've got underground water projects of such size and unmapped complexity to rival the Paris Underground.  Not to mention the ungodly mountains of clothing, goblin armor, and loose stones and food.

Not helping those problems, a siege arrived - 1 FPS.  The military is clearing the memory drain as fast as it can.

It is obvious! Armok requires the destruction of these hideous lumps!

One thing that really helped me with my old fort is setting the GFPS in the init file to 3.  You guys might need to set it to 1.  haha

But that should give you between 20-30 FPS.

if we had a chasm it would be a lot easier to dump stuff.
I don't know when this place will be inflicted on me again because the turn order seems to be thoroughly dead.

No kidding.  I've been leaving the game running in the background when I have the chance, and I'm only into Summer.

Let's face it, the fortress is just so borked up it's almost unplayable.  What is there left to do anymore except go into the Pits, which I already know would be a cakewalk with the superhero army of the Eternal Halls.

Obviously our only recourse is to flood the ENTIRE map with magma, destroying EVERYTHING. We then need a system to dump water all over it to form obsidian, which we will reclaim upon.
