I'm suprised this is even alive still... I thought this would have imploded by now, given the time issues. I just hope I'm around when it eventually rolls around to my turn, emphasis on eventually.

Your turn? When is that?

In the eventual future, give or take an eternity.

20th Timber.

FELMOOD is nearly complete. The system is made of bridges at various strategic points along the corridors, so that areas are mostly self-contained when the system is activated. The system works as follows:

1. Something happens
2. Someone pulls one of the bright red, easily located emergency levers.
3. Each lever controls a floodgate, which form a wall separating a water source (the river) from a pressure plate.
4. The water activates the pressure plate, which raises all of the emergency bridges (which are built in pairs where possible, so that the magma-safe sides are always facing outwards).
5. The problem is dealt with
6. Someone pulls the lever at the top of the tower, which raises shuts off the water, and opens a drain.
7. The activated emergency lever is reset, and the water is switched back on, resetting the system.

Oh great and vengeful Armok, why did I not remember this thread until now?

The Statue!  I am not worthy to look upon it!

"Goblins! On the mountain!"

The cry rang through the halls. The orders were soon dispatched.
"Morul shall lead her squad to the west, and take care of the pikegoblins by the tower! Thob and the marksdwarves, go and take out the crossbow-goblins to the south! Move out!"

Tulon Zasitasteb was the third of the marksdwarves to emerge form the fortress. As he rushed to the mountain, he could see that the melee fighters were successful in their first engagement, and were heading up to fight a group of wrestlers. Sure that the day would won, he turned his eye toward his destination.

Then it happened. Thob Umstiziton, his commander and lover, struck down in a hail of bolts. Dastot Uthmikmomuz Sudir Logem, the other marksdwarf, who was halfway up the mountain, also witnessed the event.
"Commander!" he shouted, as he ran to fight the green menace. He, too, was shot.

"No! You'll pay for this, you green bastards!" shouted Tulon as he rushed to avenge his fallen comrade and his lover. In the heat of the moment, however, he had forgotten to bring bolts with him. Nonetheless, he charged forward with all his might, and fell victim to the same fate that had befallen his fellow soldiers. As he lay there breathing his last breath, he could faintly see the melee squad rushing up the mountain...

23rd Moonstone.

The dining hall was flooded in an attempt to refill the fountain/waterfall water supply. As soon as the waters subside, I'm going to install a safety switch on that thing.

A goblin siege came. We got them all, but a group of archers annihilated our marksdwarf squad, so we're going to need better long-range defenses.  I;m planning on turning the gateway sort of structure into a catapult deck, so that invaders can be fired at safely.

1st Obsidian.

The Fortress and Royal Guards have been filled to the recommended capacity, and we now have two new squads, one for swordsdwarves and one for marksdwarves. On a side note, we also have a lot fewer farmers.

To practice my managing skills, I had all narrow clothing items either marked for melting or dumping. Now that the magma smelters are back online, we can get a booming iron industry going, as we're running out of trees to make barrels with.

1st Granite, 120.
As of today, I relieve myself of my position as "RULR" of the fort, and take up the position of manager. I stuck the tag inside a wine barrel for some lucky dwarf to find.
_________
Save.
Map.

Notes for future rulers:
- Turning off the waterfall via the standard lever may cause flooding. Use the lever at the end of the hall instead.
- Turning off the fountain may cause it to have to be manually restarted.
- Pulling any of the Red Levers will cause (most) of the drawbridges in the hallways to rise. Pulling the yellow lever atop the green tower will disable the system.

Is anybody gonna take this or what? (This is one the advantages of having a list. You have someone to blame for not taking their turn.)
