Hokay people, listen up.
As a semi-observant follower of this thread I'm seeing a disturbing trend. I see people eagerly signing up, only to disappear after a mere few months wait. Fye on it! These kids have no STAMINA.
And further, you get your hands on the save and go off to a glorious start, only to lose interest once the difficulties start setting in.
"Oh damn I lost half the military to an unlucky ambush and the other half is throwing tantrums."
"Oh boogers, I just flooded the fort. With magma."
"Ohshi- pits!"
or more likely "Oh bloody hell, this place is an incomprehensible mess! I can't even find the food stockpile nevermind the bridge lever."
Shame I say. These things, heavy loads an overseer must bear, they wear you down, do they? A pox on you! These are the things that should INVIGORATE! To work, to strive, to excel! That is the dwarven way. The harder the challenge, the sweeter the reward.
Oh, running a mountainhome isn't such a breeze? Well tough shit. What do think this is? A holiday camp?
THIS IS BLOODY ETERNAL HALLS.
Yes, this was intended as a bit tongue in cheek even if I do hold the sentiment. However, there are some things I do want to say in all seriousness.
First, if you signed up, please let us know if you want to retract your offer. Just courtesy, please.
Second, if you start and can't finish, don't drop the save, especially if you screwed up royally. Upload the incomplete save and we'll carry on. That is what Eternal Halls is all about, no? If you do drop the save it's the same as savescumming, which is definitely against what this fort is about.
Thanking you in advance,
-Nahkh
Ps. Qloos, I was so waiting to hear about the hilarious antics of having the entire population ordered to the meat grinder obsidian sword practice. Many decapitations?
