7-zip is very good and lightweight. I vouch for it. But I think that most of the people who don't know what .rar is use Macs... Is there 7-zip for Mac?

I personally use WinRAR... pretty sure that wouldn't work on a mac either, though.

Oh that's where you get 7 Zip from, I can finally get all those cool oblivion mods off the internet I was looking at :D

But I kind of need to know what you have to do to extract files from a .rar file, otherwise I can't get the save, unless someone can repost the save as a zip file

All you do is use the program to extract the files to a new folder or a different location.

the only .rar file opener i know of is winRAR, but there may be others, depending on how creative the internet has been recently.

Ahhh right, thanks, I'll give that a shot tomorrow, vista is crap for extracting files...

And the computer with XP is down for just now, but should be up tomorrow

Is it that you can't open the file, or is it something bigger?  I don't want to just keep skipping you when you plainly want to play.

My Nostalgia fort succession game is similar in that regard.  I suck!
