That's a lot of construction!  Yeesh, we are going to have one heavily mechanized fort.

Cool though.  Also the place is a broken wreck, and that's why we love it so much!

Finally done!

Month of Opal
1st Opal
Turns out that the floor above the magma couldn't be dug because there was a bridge over it. That is being removed.

8th Opal
They started to smooth and engrave the Artifact chamber. Obsidian maker is nearly operational.

12th Opal
Obsidian maker bridge is gone. Now to run it properly.

Month of Obsidian
7th Obsidian
The Obsidian maker works properly now. TIme to make swords!

19th Obsidian
The Anti-Submerging Solution Featuring an Artifact Protection System, or as it's more commonly known, ASSFAPS, is complete. The only problem is that the Artifacts are too protected now, so we will have to find a way around that.
_________________________

Brief summary of year 109:

-Finished castle-esque construction outside.
-Ended war with Humans
-Built Obsidian Generator
-Built Artifact storage room
-Made ASSFAPS
-Made side entrance, if adventuring/reclaiming and the front gate is closed
-Turned useless obelisks into a fortified watchtower
-Shop area now has golden floors (from flooding)

Recommendations for next ruler:
-There is a bridge being built outside the artifact room, to drain the water when the pumps are off. Link this to the lever that controls the pumps (bottom right in lever room).
-Before using the Obsidian Generator, read the notes by the magma forges.
-Assign some new miners

Right, you are both tacked onto the end there.  Wow, 40 turns listed.

Looks like a fun turn, Sizik!  You did a lot of (it sounds like) complex construction.

One thing about continuing, however, is that I'm going to need the save.  Could you post that?

What was your total population, Sizik?

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

And a map too. I want to see just how badly he desecrated my "useless" Obelisks.

I knew I forgot something, but I just thought it was that baby who got stuck in the water supply...

123 pop.  Fort is growin' right slow.

By the way, i still don't know how to post maps.  Someone else can do so.

The towers are now really really tall towers with a lentil across the top.

I'd like to get in on this someday, even though I will be an old, old man by then. Going to need a PM.

Ok, so I finally got DF running on my 42" TV.  Now I can start my turn.  Don't worry, won't take long once I get started.
