I was away from monday to wednesday, so I couldn't play, but I'll get back on it tonight or tomorrow.
Rest of Limestone
8th Limestone
They started building walls outside, so sieges and the like have to pass through a tunnel and infiltrators will
be more easily noticed. Alse, a statue garden is going up in the big constructed area outside.
They added a obsidian stockpile by the magma forges, and started to build floodgates.
12th Limestone
Finally, I have found something better to do than carry around rocks all day. Next to the obsidian stockpile,
they built some workshops for making swords, but there's one problem: There was nobody there! I then dropped
what I was doing (bringing obsidian to the stockpile I was conveniently standing on) and went to one of the
shops and started making swords.
17th Limestone
Merchants from the Mountainhomes arrived. Construction began on those two towers north of the fortress. I
overheard the word "pillbox", but I'm pretty sure that the dwarf just forgot to take his medication.
25th Limestone
Disaster strikes the fortress! First, in a convoluted effort to retrieve a pick from the magma (from when it
was breached by miners, causing five deaths), a miner (who had just given birth) channeled out the support for
the ground she was standing on and, like some kind of wiley coyote, fell to her (and her baby's) death.
About half an hour earlier, a child helping with the deconstruction up on the towers did relatively the same
thing, but safely landed on the floor below. Now, another child attempted the same thing (with a horse, I might
add) but ended up falling off the tower. Eight floors later, they died on impact. Even more tragically, their
falling knocked off Sibrek Martyeredbridges and her son, Rish. The baby died on impact, but Sibrek sustained
major injuries, including a damaged lung and broken spine. Shortly thereafter, she suffocated.
On an unrelated note, some of master engraver Dadam's fine floor photos are being destroyed by plants, due to
the semi-recent flooding. There's still some water floating around. I heard a rumor that he actually doesn't
like art! How ironic that would be, eh?
