Operations log: Granite 1, 109
So, apparently I'm going to be the new Chief Organizer. No idea why. It even falls to me, not the so-called record keeper, to keep a definitive journal of events. You know, just in case we all die horribly and someone wants to know why.
I've only just gotten used to the idea, too. First things first: I need a new bedroom. And it has to me MY bedroom, see. So I can keep it as symmetrical as I like.

My dig order hasn't even been started yet. Now I know lots of folks are busy carrying out standing build orders but isn't at least one miner free? I have requested a comprehensive list of job orders and assignments be made.

Stockpiles are very full. It's disconcerting but not as bad as it looks. Most of the finished goods piles are filled with stone instruments and narrow clothes that I can offload next time I get the chance. It's a pity a previous ruler saw fit to piss off the humans...
Note: we have PLENTY of tables, doors, and coffins.

Parties?! What are we, elves!? There is no time for such things. I tell Mr. Whipsubtle that there will be no such distractions while I run things. 'Good dwarves are dying in the war, we need to relax!' he says. 'There's a perfectly good waterfall just over there.' I say. 'In fact, it is a very nice waterfall. And just look at these wonderful tables!' He misunderstands me, as usual. But you know what's different now? What I say goes, and I say no parties.

Would you look at that? Turns out, there's a huge mining operation going on way down in the deep. I admit that may be more important than my bedroom, but could you really not spare even a one? They haven't found much besides gems yet anyway.
The events of Granite 9, 109
"What do you mean, arrested?" Kishmond was understandably furious. The Guard, however, was unfazed.
"One count of: violation of production order number 26139-A. That's brass items. You didn't make the Sir Consort's brass items."
"I didn't? Are you-- you're kidding, you must be joking."
"'Fraid not, guv. You're coming wif me."
It took a further 3 guards to get Kishmond out of his immaculately clean rented room. That was the way it worked, after all. Kishmond didn't agree, as the whole fortress soon knew.
"Do you know who I am?! I am busy here! Ye gods! BY ANAN THERE WILL BE REPERCUSSIONS!"
Wow, I wasn't expecting that... I hope I don't get hammered to death though it does only say 29 days in prison. I was working on those brass items too.
And this is an interesting fortress. I've had almost this many dwarves before but it's never been, well... such a hellhole.
