So it would be my turn now, if we can't figure out this bug?

Yes, assuming you can get the game to run.  I don't have time to test it right at the moment.

Yeeeep, crashes for me as well.  I have ways to avoid screw ups on basically every type of succession game problem EXCEPT bugs.  ARGH

Just crashed for me too. Another thing, though: the humans just seem to sit at the edge of the map and don't bother approaching the fort, despite there being a clear path.

I'll give it a shot using the next-to-latest save, see if it still has trouble.

note today's devlog:

# fixed crash from human siege campfires

That might be what is happening with that save.  That means that it will keep happening if we keep getting human sieges also, at least until the next release.

Agh, that sucks.

At least we know there is a fix on the way, though.

Perhaps we should consider turning off invasions until they are fixed? I mean, that would be losing a bit of the fun, but at least we should be able to continue.

Just tried to run Marinekings latest save in 39c. It doesn't seem to be backwards compatible; region 13 was the only save game but it didn't recognize it. Only gave me the option to create a new world.

UPgrading DF saves is buggy and can cause very serious bugs.
Downgrading DF saves is AT BEST buggy and at worst destroys the save.

I have a fortress I've been playing since last November, upgraded every release. No bugs yet. I think we're just unlucky.

PS: Holy schmack I just realized last November was almost a year ago. Time flies huh?

PPS: I'm going out of state this weekend until Sunday. Do you mind waiting for me to get back Sunday evening? On the off chance all the bugs are fixed and Dogman finishes his turn by then.

PPPS: Spore is coming out the day I get back. Irony! And joy!

When I was testing it I noticed the only squad that made campfires was the one that appeared on the western edge. Perhaps if we were to take them out quickly enough, we'd avoid the campfire bug?

It's possible, but I'm pretty certain they already have a fire going when Marine King's turn ends.

I think we might should just wait until the next release.  it will likely only be a few days, and I hate to make Marine King's turn(s) never have happened.

Lol, for what it's worth, you won't hurt my feelings (Though I appreciate the sentiment!).
