23rd haematite
I was casually walking around my refuse heap when I saw a most awful sight!
In amongst all the rotting corpses of goblins and humans was a wikkle kitty!
I cast aside the bloated corpses of our esteemed allies, the humans to rescue it.
Unfortunately, it was dead, but this shall be no setback for a mind like
mine!
I shall call it Squishy, and it shall be my squishy, and I shall care for it always.

26th haematite
Oh woe is me, for my poor squishy is... is... rather too squishy.
Apparently warm days don't agree with dead cats, even if you do stuff them
with rock salt(Courtesy of Uncle Maggarg.)
I suppose poor Squishy goes back with the humans and goblins.

27th haematite
It's still raining. It's been raining for aaages. These dark, angry clouds do
absolutely nothing for the general mood of a dwarf, which is by default miserable.
I'm happy though. I don't know why, but I'm very happy!
I'm going to keep eating these funny plump helmets the voices tell me to.

2nd malachite
My Gigantinormous rubbish heap is working!
All the waste of the fortress is there now, and clogged butcheries and
tanneries are now clear.

3rd malachite
Woo, party!
Some metalcrafter organised a party at a table, so I went and had fun.
It's a shame that they all ran away when I entered the room, so I had to
drink ALL the booze.
This place is full of nutters, I swear.

5th malachite
I ordered some windows made so we can have a real glass tower.
I decided to make the stumpy one we have at the moment lots bigger and
sparklier.
Lots sparklier.

9th malachite
The glassmakers are VERY slow in making the windows I wanted.
The rest of the tower is going well, but we are in sore need
of windows.

11th malachite
And suddenly three windows are made.
It might be that the glassmakers were busy at home. Or it might be that
I charged in there flailing a battleaxe madly whilst wearing only
the dirt that Armok gave me. Oh, and I was frothing a bit, but I'm sure that was
only a symptom of a mushroom diet. These mushrooms, anyway.

13th malachite
Ok, now we've run out of green glass blocks.
I think the glassmakers might be quids in for a while.
Hmm, quid sounds like squid. I wonder if they like squids.

15th malachite
Apparently we also need more raw glass.
I think I know where this is going...

17th malachite
The Duchess had a baby. This means we have 28 children in the fortress.
When I work out how to change the laws on infanticide I'm going to have a hell of a
feast.
Why is everyone looking at me funny again?
I know what I'll do, I'll look at them like they're the weird ones.
It works for royalty, should work for a naked insane miner.

21st malachite
These glassmakers are soooo lazy.
I'll have to find a way of either making more of them or building more furnaces.#
Ugh, apparently I can't have more furnaces because the forges are so badly made.
>:[

23rd haematite
I managed to get one furnace constantly spewing out raw glass and the other
making it into blocks.
I wonder why no-one had this happening already.
Woof.

24th Malachite
Hey, my last entry ended in Haematite! Perhaps I really am a time traveler!

1st galena
I am definitely not a time lord. Nor am I superdwarf.
The number of animals is now just above 90, and soon it will
dip below that number.
I heard that Uncle Maggarg was complaining about over 500 animals!
That's an awful lot, although abbeyverse is a lot bigger that the eternal halls.

6th galena.
We still don't seem to have very many glass blocks.
This makes me ever so slightly angry. The Giant Toad tells me that
losing is fun. He never makes much sense. He often talks in a strange language
that makes things happen.

7th galena
The Rubbish Heap is now looking quite hygienic, now mostly made of
bleached bones. I'm glad that idea worked, at least.

12th galena
Someone else had another baby, this time all over the floor in
the dining room. Very, very messy. Quite a few of the voices are
telling me to eat it.
Oh, and we now have about 20 blocks. That's not many, I think.
Not many at all.

18th galena
Doing some more exploratory mining.
Very fun stuff! I like digging, because then I'm a long way below
ground and the Air Loom cannot influence me.
That's what the voices tell me, anyway.

24th galena
Wow, I lost track of time when I was digging out this pretty blue rock.
I really ought to try to use some of that stuff. This place needs more
mosaics. Preferably of my own unique invention.
Ahahahahahaha.

26th galena
Looking for platinum deposits in olivine. I don't know why platinum
is so valuable, it just looks like silver.
Perhaps it's because I can NEVER FIND ANY.

1st limestone
Speak of Armok, I found some platinum.
Hey, i wonder if there's Adamantine down here?
O Adamant Blue and all. I wonder if Aquizzar is 'ard enough
to take a demon.
Yes. Yes he is.

Unfortunately, no. My main PC will most probably be unusable for at least the next two weeks, leaving me with a rather sub-par laptop.
A very, very sub-par laptop.
All to do with my parents taking away something in the PC after I got lousy results on my A-levels.

I'll play if I can get the save in Mayday graphics. (I have no idea how swapping saves works, so I assume a normal save won't work for a mayday load.)

Just PM me when It's my week.

My life just sploded, so I should still be playing DFort in a few weeks anyways.

Tile set doesn't matter at all with regards to saves or loads.

Sure, I'll add you in.  It will be a while.

I can't take the turn, because I don't have a computer right now. There's my sister's computer, but I can't use it very often, so... I'm sorry.

Ok, no problems, things happen.  Now it's Nakh's turn.  I've sent a PM (actually about to in a minute) and see how that goes.

Yeah I'm here, ready to play.
Maggarg: Can you upload your latest save or should I continue from the same point you started from?

If I don't hear from you, I'll go with Eita's save (http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=809).

Excerpts from the diary of Endok Ichedlabor, resident philosopher at Zilirīton.
First Granite, of the year hundred and twelve.
The situation here at Zilirīton has been deteriorating for a while now. Even I cannot fail to notice the complete lack of beverages around the place, but who am I to complain? But it seems that others are beginning to grumble as well, and are calling for quote unquote New Leadership. For some reason they seem to think that I would be the dwarf for the job. Perhaps they were impressed by my austere composure while drinking water for the sixth week in a row or something as trivial as that. Of course I told them to bugger off and leave me to my work. My analysis of B. Wagonlatcheds "Dissertations on Astronomy" is in a critical phase and I simply cannot detach myself from it for something so trivial as "The Water Problem". But the others were insistent. It seems that they won't let me have any peace of mind until I agree. Cornered, I had no choice but to consent. But only for a year. Perhaps I will have the opportunity to employ my knowledge of Whipsprings  "Quantum Fluid Dynamics - On the behavior and properties of pressured incompressible fluids". Perhaps something good will come of this.

Addendum: One of the dwarves who came to demand my leadership reported that on his way here he stumbled across a seemingly disturbed dwarf by the name of Maggarg. Apparently he thinks that the message was addressed to him, and now thinks himself the director of this fortress. He's quite unhinged, obviously, so I arranged a padded room for him. He seems like the sort of person who could be a danger to himself.

That's me

Here we go.

"I wonder if there's any stone around here," said Sibrek Sazireddud, Legendary Stonecrafter. He heard a dull moaning sound coming from up a nearby ramp.  He went to investigate.  "This area seems familiar," said the dwarf, "like I've been here before." Suddenly, a ghost appeared!
"WHAT IS YOUR NAME?" shouted the ghost.
   "S-Sibrek," he answered, "Sibrek Sazireddud."
"WHAT IS YOUR QU- did you say Sibrek Sazireddud? The legendary stonecrafter?"
"Yes," answered the dwarf. "You've heard of me?"
"Heard of you? I used to work with you. Don't you remember me? It's me, Sizik!"
   "Who?"
"You don't remember me? The guy that designed the obsidian maker? The guy that made obsidian swords across the room from you? The guy that built the obnoxiously expensive tomb with all the statues?"
"Oh yeah, I remember now." Sibrek said memorably, "You went insane after being caught in a cage trap."
"Yeah, that. Listen, I want to make a deal with you. Come closer so I can whisper."
Sibrek did lean closer, but instead of a whisper, he recieved a ghost. "That was easy," said Sizik, who was now in control of Sibrek's body. "Time to go to town."

Diary of Sizik Sazireddud

Month of Granite.

This new body's going to need some getting used to. I went right away to work on sprucing up the obsidian generator, seeing as noone's used it since I "departed". During the (de)construction, I noticed an untapped source of obsidian: the walls around the magma pipe. I sent some miners in to dig around the pipe, carefully instructing how close one can get without breaching the walls. With this extra stone, I could go right to work making obsidian short swords. Elves arrived, and goblins soon after. Two squads from the northwest, one above us to the south, and some to the west. Aqizzar and crew soundly thrashed the northwestern groups,  while the two marksdwarf squads rained down on the southern group from above. During the commotion, I noticed that the lever marked "Front gate lever" in fact did not close the front gates. This is to be fixed.
