Can I put my name on the list for succession? I'm a pretty experienced DF player, with a penchant for giant (usually doomed from the drawing board) projects. This'd be my first succession.

Sure, shackleton, but it'll be a while.  There's a lot of people ahead of you.

This Blake is ready, and will have a Spring-to-Summer update within the next couple of days.

Well, it's been nearly a week.  How's that coming?

Oops, thought I'd updated recently. guess not. Sadly, due to computer troubles, as well as just not having enough free time (Long story, don't ask), I've only made it to halfway through Mid-Spring. Sorry about that one.

- Journal of Nerin Blueirons, 1st Granite, 113 -

I'm confused by everything these days. How this fort is, how my life is, everything. So this probably won't end well. You see, I've been selected to lead the fort this year, even though I'm nothing more that a lowly Metalsmith. So confusing.
Well, I'll do it anyway, but I can't promise this will end well.

-7th Granite-

It's come to my attention that we're totally out of booze. Ignoring the question of how 158 dwarves let this happen, I've had the brewers begin a mass brewfest. Now.

-10th Granite-

...Crap. We're under seige now. 5 squads, most coming from the west.

Everyone's going inside, Military to the gates, you know.

-11th Granite-

Northern Squad's gone, west squad's still coming. Tax collectoer's mandated construction of bins. Having the carpenters work on it now.

-15th Granite-

Alright. Not too bad, if I do say so myself. Goblins have been forced to retreat, and not one dwarf, dog, or mule died in the process. We're currently collecting everything the goblins dropped, and smelting whatever's unusable.

...Eh?

Oh, Elven traders arrived, not a few minutes after the Goblins had left. Lucky them. I've moved some items to the Depot for trading.

-17th Granite-

The elves brought three things, mostly. Rope, Arrows, and plants. I bought all of each, even though I doubt we are in shortage of any of them.

Oh, and two Tree-related things happened today. First, I had the Woodcutters go and cut down some of the things, as we're a bit short on wood. Not too long after, the things retailiated, defacing one of Dadam's engravings. Goddamn Trees.

-2nd Slate-

The Duchess's Consort doesn't want us exporting earrings for a while. last I checked, this is nothing to worry about.

-8th Slate-

Oh hey, Migrants. Our Total poulation is now  , with the new arrivals being:

- 1 Seige Engineer
- 1 Cook
- 1 Woodcutter
- 1 Armorer
- 1 Cheese Maker
- 1 Brewer
- 1 Ranger
- 1 Dyer
- 1 Gem Setter
- 1 Puppy
- 2 Mules

Not sure what I'll be doing with them, but they've been accepted with open arms.

-9th slate-

The Mayor's imposed a ban on exporting Rope Reed items. No problem, as we wouldn't export those anyway.

Ok, skipping Blake Koris as he's been three weeks with no real progress.  Next up is Iluogo.

I'd like to have a turn at this one as well. I'm already involved in two succession games, but I'm sure they won't clash with this one.

Ok, I'll add you, but it's going to be a while.  Turns move slow as heck in this fort.

Yeah, sorry about that one. Life seems to like screwing with me at the moment.

Anyway, I'd look out for a siege within the first season, Iluogo.

Iluogo hasn't been on the forums for a month and a half and has not posted.  Skipped.

Next up is Balor Kartain.  Since he hasn't been on the forums in two months, I'll give two days and then skip him too.

Not that I want to make more work for anyone, but mayhaps it would be an idea to PM next few people in line ahead of their turn (1-2 weeks?) to see if they're still around and interested in playing?

Just a thought.

see if they're still around and interested in playing?

A reasonable suggestion.  I just sent out a message to the next ten people, telling them to reply to it within a week or get skipped.  I'll delete the turns that don't reply.

Hopefully that will help somewhat.
