Comedy!

Well, there's a flood going on somewhere, and this is the only lever that I don't know will flood the fortress.  Let's give it a try.

*PULL*

So it releases some magma.  To nowhere.  How 'bout that.

1st Felsite:  In the interest of getting the piles of garbage out of our trade depot, I've begun construction on a new 'whatever you want to put in here' stockpile.  As a measure to increase speed of mining, I've handed out picks to everyone who looked bored.  Don't give me "No job".  The economy isn't THAT bad.  I've also put every animal I could find up for slaughter.  We don't need to be ankle deep in dwarf vomit AND animal feces.  One or the other will suffice, thank you.

20th Felsite:  Screw you pointy-eared bastards.

Another scepter that stirs all dwarven hearts and inspires legends across the land?  Yeah, just throw it on the pile.

I'll just assume that there is a purpose and then not do anything about it.

Whatever.

I didn't know it had different flavor text for migrants. Does this happen when you lose a lot of people?

Hey, that was my feeling going through this thing.  Not 'whatever' in the apathy sense, but more in the 'what the heck is going on with this fort?' sense?  It's hard to conceive large projects when everything else is so screwy.  But that's why I like this game!

Hm, it's Run Comrades' turn, but he is listed as being 'last active' on September 9.  I sent a message saying we'd wait till wednesday to see if he's interested, but I'm guessing not.

Awesome stuff :D
Can't wait for my turn. Looks like it'll be around half past eternity.

Yeah, thanks for the consideration!

I'm mixed up in some other things at the moment. But I might return in the future. In the mean time, I'll stick to lurking and watching behind the scenes. :P

Sally forth!

Haha, good of you to at least vocally pass on your turn instead of just waiting.

Ok, ok, next up is CHJees, in his triumphant(?) return.

It's... my turn again then?

Oh hell.  Well, that's cool.  I probably can't really start until Saturday, but I'll take a look now to make sure everything still works.

Ok, CHJees, we'll skip you.  Do you want to be tacked on to the end again?

Aqizzar, yep, it's your turn now.  Good luck!

How messy is the fort? When I get my turn will it still be messy or will i have to tidy it up for everyone? I want every one to have a fair gameplay experience!

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Depends on what you mean by messy.

There is stuff on the floor in places, mostly owned items because they don't always get moved, and there's crap on the front lawn for unknown reasons, though possibly the same ones.  Also apparently stockpile space was so limited that an amount of items were left where they were due to space shortages.

As far as architecturally, the place is an insane, twisted mess due to too many people's over-ambitious projects.  That part isn't really feasible to 'clean up', because... well, most of it is highly pressurized water that would flood the fort given half a chance.

"Alright, listen up lads.  'Ere's what we're gonna do.  Kib, Cerol, you two start cutting down all the tower-caps springing through the halls.  Asmel, Oddom, put down your shoppin' and slap together a nickle armor stand for the Countess so we don't lose another metalsmith...  We ain't got no nickle?  Well crap.  I'll get back to you.  Anybody know how to work a still?  Three of you?  You lot brew as fast as you can, til we got more booze than dwarves again.  Everyone else, start making skull totems.  I'll tell you when to stop."

I don't have a fucking clue what's going on here.  I think I'll need to spend some time just drawing a paper map of the fort so I'll have a 3D idea of how this rat maze of muddy tunnels fits together.  We're probably low on bedrooms again, especially with the economy on, which seems to be playing hell with people's possessions.  We're also desperately low on basic stuff like booze, plants, and metal types.

Observation: Tower-caps can grow underwater.  The main waterway is slowing being choked off.

Was somebody previously running the fort with temperature off?  Because there's a lot of iron junk in the magma that's not melting.  Of course, I might have to turn it off myself.  FPS ~10 with no invaders.  I'll do my best.

I'll upload a map to the archive in a bit.
