I wanna sign up for this too. Just PM me before my turn's supposed to start. I also have a pretty good rig fps-wise.
This is such an awesome, awesome fort.

Turn's going good. Currently averaging ~17 fps.
Month of Granite:
Diary of peasant 'Sizik' Dîshmabirtir

9th Granite
I've finally decided to start a journal. Something happened with the leadership lately, either someone quit or was fired or died or something like that, I don't really know. Anyway, I was workin' on the wall outside when one of those damn elves showed up. Also, someone ordered the entire bottom floor mined out, instead of just in rows. I think that the whole damn thing would collapse, but that's none of my business

15th Granite
The elves wanted us to limit the number of trees we cut down. Like hell we would! But those stupid big business government types agreed to their proposal. It makes me sick. Speaking of which, now they canceled all the lower level mining in favor of something to do with magma. I think it's a crazy idea, working with magma. I prefer my rocks nice and solid, thank you very much.

19th Granite
Some more elves showed up, wanting to trade. I would've told 'em to go drown in magma, but that's just me.
A new stockpile room was ordered to be dug for, get this, COLORED STONES! Hahahahaha! I can understand wanting a little more than gray now and then, but making an entire stockpile just for rainbow rocks is ridiculous.

25th Granite
Heard someont went and took over a mason's workshop, mumblin' to themselves. Wonder what'll come of it. On a related note, I think I might secretly build myself a tomb somewhere...

Sounds like a lot of activity and large scale construction/deconstruction.  So, basically, a dwarven fort.  Glad the turn is going well!

Month of Slate
9th Slate
That moody dwarf, Sibrek dead-bridge-something-or-other, started making something. Based on what I've heard, it's gort a lot of wood in it. Hope it'e something to kill elves. That'd be ironic. Discovered a small, unused room out of the way from the rest of the fortress, above the river. Gonna have a few of my friends open it up a bit for me, for my tomb.

14th Slate
Tomb's about halfway dug out. That dwarf, Sibrek Martyredbridges, finished his crazy comstruction: a really gneiss bed called Dogiketar "Wadking".

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

21st Slate
Tomb's done. Gonna put a coffin there now. Nothing interesting happening lately.

24th Slate
Got some engravers to start smoothing and engraving my tomb. Those suckers will do anything if you tell them that the mayor ordered it. Ha!

29th Slate
Ugh! Today I went to go dome some stone (not like there's anything else I can do around here), and the place they told me to dump it is a small shack out in the middle of the wood in front of he fortress! I had to walk a mile just to get there, not to mention that it's OUTSIDE! I need a drink.

[ooc] Really, why was there a garbage zone on top of that shack? [/ooc]

Something tells me when my turn comes, I'll be dealing with Madness.

Even though everything's fine now.

Month of Felsite
5th Felsite
The smoothing of the tomb is finished, engravung has started. I even was able to get the legendary engraver 'Dadam' Skaketome the Holiness of Fording to work on it! In related news, the large order for statues that I snuck into the manager's office has been approved.

27th Felsite
YES! The tomb's engraved! Now to move all those statues...
Also, they built some kind of secret entrance, in case the entrance floods or something and someone wants to get in.

Month of Hematite
1st Hematite
Summer already. Me and a few friends started moving statues to my tomb. I told them to pay careful attention to where they put them.

13th Hematite
Humans arrived. Wanted to end the war. We agreed. Then a goblin snatcher appeared and the Human drove it away.
Then an ambush arrived. Then a Human caravan passed by and killed all the goblins. One of the wagons was srtuck down, so we get free stuff. Then another ambush came. The humans had left, so the guard took care of them themselves.

24th Hematite
A child went into a strange mood. Nothing else interestong.

Month of Malachite
1st Malachite
Kid made Playcrested, a pine cup. They started testing their magma contraption.

Month of Galena
10th Galena
I was browsing around the shops, when the well suddenly started to overflow. Many things got wet. I overheard
someone saying that in order to supply the magma contraption with water (I believe their making obsidian), they
opened a floodgate that connected their water supply to the river four floors up. Problem is, the water they
used for obsidian-making is the same one that some of the wells draw from, leading to the predicament we are in
now. I sometimes wonder if the higher-ups are alright in the head.

*The pages here have been ripped out*

Month of Limestone
1st Limestone
Due to a second well-flood, my diary got soaked and I lost most of the entries from Galena, so here's a quick
recap. The wells flooded. The obsidian-generator test run was apparently a sucess, so a mining operation was
started in the now solid section of the magma pipe (which is right next to the magma forges). Some stupid miner
got too close to the magma, and breached it. The magma was not noticed until the excavated cavern was half
filled, and five miners and a dog burned to death. The floodgate lever was pulled, and while the magma was
stopped, the magma forge area was flooded and some of the forges went powerless.

I like the idea.  Sign me up too, why not.  Send me a PM if my turn ever rolls around.  40d, right?

So, is this in a Pre-saved World? If so sign me up and give me the Data.

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Well, it's a succession fort, in the sense that we are all taking turns on a single save.

The world is pretty standard.  We're not 'actually' the last dwarves.  Anyway, I'll get the gen params once I get home for lunch, as I've got to go to work.  Still, I'll sign you up.

ok, worldgen info follows.  This is for version 39e.  I don't know how much difference it makes using 40d instead, but I suspect it's trivial.

Worldgen behind the spoiler.

Edit:  Actually you might want to stick with 39e on this.  40d changes the mineral makeup of the site as well as the names of things.  Not a big deal, but it might also change the terrain, and besides that it would make farming harder with no sand.

What about the save? What happens with that?
