I'll hopefully start soon, but in the meantime, Lego Digital Designer is a great tool for designing megaprojects.

I thought of using it... but... it's annoying to use, especially with putting blocks in the right places around eachother.

Diary of Sibrek Sizik Sazireddud.  1st Granite, 119.

Oof! I was havin' me a nice bath, when suddenly, it exploded! I don't know why. Must've been super drunk, as there was a strong smell of rum afterwards. Don't think that'll be happening again anytime soon, as they tell me that there's no more alcohol left. That won't last for long.

Also, it appears I'm the new ruler. Nice.

One of the military dwarves, Quizzer or something like that came up to me and asked me to build something to keep infedels away from his awful nice wooden tomb. Well, not so much asked as implied with that chin of his, which was almost as big as his axe. I mean, it was sticking out of his beard for Keshan's sake! That's not natural. Anyway, I'm possessing the best stonecrafter around here, and I have quite a grand idea in mind.

Why does every single ruler want to build some massive monument or another? This is really like a mirror of real world governments and why they fail. :D

Armok willing, eventually the whole map will be composed of nothing but monuments.  Towers upon towers upon tombs upon tombs, with a cramped, muddy, dog-infested fortress snaking it's way through the cracks between.

Makes me think of Djelibeybi. This place needs more Pyramids.

Those lucky dwarves, despite the risk of being stabbed, shots, poisoned, eaten, mauled, enslaved, eviscerated or involved in accidents... at least they don’t have to worry about immediate dangers like the heat death of the universe.

Actually, it's totally like the Djelibeybi except things change. Time moves at a snails pace, stored up within the colossal dwarven monuments (and the balls of their creators).

I know that sounds strange, but bear with me. Dwarves design and create monuments. It's not to attempt to convince themselves that their penis is large, but because after they've built at least one awe inspiring model, their penis actually will be.
Dwarven biology. A giant gold and adamantine middle finger to the rest of the world.

The promise was made to never let it die. This promise will be held unto eternity, until I spill the beans and tell everyone where i saw the eerie glowing pit with VisualFortress after my turn - Or. NSFW Fan art - Or. NSFW Megaprojects - Or. Lack of space - Or. lack of interest.

I hope one day this fortress has so many towers and tombs, that the only place for improvement is to connect a couple of them via bridge, and build another tower from that.
We've got only two so far though...

Diary, 24th Granite.

Construction on the mold has begun. Four extraneous (I heard that means elf-like) kitchens have been replaced with stills, of which we only had one.  A plant stockpile has been constructed above, allowing the brewers easy access to materials.  Three kobolds came, two got away.  Extraneous bastards.
