Ive been plkaying Adventure Mode a lot recently, so and had 2 of these in the same day, both of which ill post. I havent been playing long so I know you guys have a few of these too. This is not to be a double-post of the surprising deaths thread. Also not meant to be considered 'failures' in the Epic Failures thread. These are just kills that are epic under the circumstance that you have been afflicted with a mortal wound. I was just curious of other peoples' examples. Here are my two examples.

I had a relatively weak spearman (didnt grind up his skills, and no special armor/weapons) who happened to recieve a quest to kill a dragon. After a bit of searching in the area, I found him. The average man vs dragon battle took place. He was breathing fire and I was moving out of the spray. I got in close enough and managed to get in a lucky strike. I pierced his throat and both of his lungs. I thought I had won it with that. Then... he breathed fire one last time. Before I knew what happened I was running around in circles with blistering skin. Apparently, while I was running around flailing my arms, he had passed out, and I died right next to him. I noticed he was surrounded in a cloud of smoke due to my burning corpse and the surrounding ground. He suffocated soon after.

My second, which I like better, was a wrestler/armor user. I was experimenting with environment parameters and wanted to see what a volcano on a glacier looked like. So I was running down there, wrestled down a black bear and 2 polar bears. I wasnt as lucky on the third one.. or maybe I was. I was wrestling with him... you know, wrapping bear corpses around his throat, rapping various limbs around his. He was breaking free a few times. I grabbed his throat with my left hand, choked, and began strangling. I had been strangling for maybe 3 seconds when he broke free of my grip on his arm and slashed my throat out. I continued strangling knowing my fate. I bled out with my hand around his throat. He too suffocated soon after.

I noticed he was surrounded in a cloud of smoke due to my burning corpse and the surrounding ground. He suffocated soon after.

Now that's ironic -- despite the fact that he would have suffocated either way -- smoke or no smoke.

hahaha i love the dragon one.. rather ironic meh my mortal wounds tend to involve a wolf getting a lucky shot at my throat when there in a pack or somthing very annoying on a new adventurer

Not exactly as the topic, I did an awesome kill that led to my death due to the injuries.  So I take my adventurer to the only temple in the 'Small' world that I forced to generate to the year 5000.  This temple is the temple of the demon that's been dead for about 3500 years and is led by one of the last goblins in the world (I think his family and a few others were all that was left, about 30 goblins in all).  So I join the temple and walk up towards the top, just looking around. Up comes the High Priest and I get an idea.  I wait until he's standing next to a ledge and I attack him.

Well, he doesn't fall and he's badass enough that he starts to injure me badly.  So I say screw it, switch to charge and charge him one last time.  We both go flying over the edge and down all 5(?) floors of the temple.  Laying on the ground, he seems to have broken my fall as he is stunned and I am not.  I get up and proceed to stab him happily with my sword.  Pierce his lung and he dies, but not before waking up and breaking my legs (yes, both).  So here I am, having just murdered the High Priest of the only religion in the world and I've got no legs.  I start to crawl away when I spot the first angry denizen, a hammerdwarf... Well I manage hit him once and I think bruise his arm, but then he made my head "explode into gore" or whatever.  The end.

That was epic.
