End Year is Always 200
« on: July 23, 2008, 12:26:28 am »

I don't know what world gen parameter I'm missing, but I set dead megies at 80% and checking start year 900 and end year at 1050, but the game STILL stops world gen at year 200 (I'm generating medium sized worlds).

Did you save the changes to scheme? IIRC, you must save them before they actually change anything.

Works fine without saving for me.

This happens because those go-getter heroes always slaughter the Megabeasts before the year 200, whereas the year 200 is the first check for megabeasts left in the world. My worlds rarely get past that year, nullify the megabeast stopping percent or change the first check year stops this. I consider it a bug that Megabeasts are so damn weak, though.

Torak... he DID change the megabeast check year.

His is a rare incident then, I get no such bug unless I don't change the check year and percent.

I've done it on two PCs (one Win XP 32 bit laptop and one Win XP 64 bit desktop) and all of them ended before 216 (if not 200 exactly).

I've saved world params, I've generated now, I've not saved params, I've even started the game, loaded params and generated.

Yeah, my new world on 39b ended at 200 also. It was a straight Generate New World Now (IIRC) one.

Ah ha, found my problem.  I kept hitting [e] on Large and then picking medium.
