Brooks? Brooks, you mean?

Plus, the whole problem with his guide is that it's based on a certain kind of zombie. His whole book would be useless against hordes of voodoo zombies. In that case, you'd need salt.

I shall, once again, resurect this thread.
The most popular work of zombie literature is probably The Zombie Survival Guide, by Max Brand. What do we think of the steps he sugests?

For example, I'd think that an M-16 would be a superior weapon for use in a zombie situation. Although a .22 is a really novel idea.

.22's have very small, light bullets and as such lets you carry more ammo for the same space/weight.

If you have to go for a headshot, does the bullet size really matter?

Anyone here read Cell? Zombie from that were kind of intresting. Instead of being a virus a signal was transimitted so that when you used a cell phone it wouldplay background noise that you couldn't hear but which would wipe your brain completely and utterly down to base level programming. Realism wise if you assume this signal works it's almost definetly likely to affect more people than deasise, sure maybe not in third world countries but then again it's not like they have the kind of power required to respond to an almost global zombie outbreak.

What I plan on using/bringing:
1) A lightweight axe.
2) A set of pocket knives.
3) A serrated fishing knife.
4) A backpack filled with some food and several maps and a canteen with water.
5) A compass.
6) I'd probably commandeer a car, I'm thinking a hummer at least till it runs out of gas and then I'd get some other car...probably a truck.
7) A lot of canned food and ramen. A lot.
8) A baseball bat, it can double as a walking stick if needed.

Not very lightweight but it should do, I hope.

I just downloaded Brook's book, and I've got to say; I think he's an idiot. I'll write a long inflammatory rant against his book later. For now, I've only read part of the section on choosing weapons. As of yet, I have nothing to complain about except his ridiculous suggestions and boring zombie concept. I'm pretty busy right now, but I'll talk about it later.

We could totally write a better guide, though.

From a zombie evaluative perspective (not music perspective), what do you think of the new Metallica video All Nightmare Long featuring zombies? It even has a Skelk... (or zombie elk depending on how good your eyesight is). A kind of original take on zombies, but really Barium being the cure is a bit obscure.

Also, it's Duct tape.  As in, used for the mending of ducts.
I couldnt be arsed to check all the pages, but I wanted to make sure somebody wastes time on this:

Afaik this is an old discussion, but the original maker of the tape was named "Duck" iirc. So actually it IS duck tape, but it transformed to duct tape (which makes more sense anyway) over the years.

Something like that.

Also, Planning to fail, also mentioned, already, probably.

If a zombie invasion were to occur, I would run away panicked until I tripped on a rock like 5 feet from my starting point. I would then sit screaming for the 10 seconds it takes for the zombie to approach and eat my brain.

If I was the average bystander in a zombiegeddon movie.

Assuming the zombies aren't active during the day, I'd hide in my storm shelter, using febreeze and bleach to cover my scent. During the day, I'd forage and try to gather survivors to expand our base.

If the zombies were active  during the day, I'd grab my pump action and box of shells and head into the woods out back. I'd grab our tent and fish & tackle kit, lighter fluid, a box of matches and the wood axe we have in the backyard. Since it's the winter, I'd bring some Vienna sausages and a can-opener, maybe some spam spread and crackers. The rest I'd raid from other peoples' houses.
I'd spend my remaining hours building a base and looking for survivors.

There aren't many people around here, so I could stay relatively safe.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.
