http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coesite

I was reading a book and stumbled on this rock being mentioned.  I wanted to know why it was important and looked it up, appears to be a volcanism indicator, and is often found with kimberlite.  In DF this could be a surface-indicator of a hidden kimberlite pipe (does it actually form pipes in DF?) to be seen on the embark screens.

Other than that, I guess it's just another useless rock.  Sort of greenish according to what I am reading.

Unfortunately, DF does not go into such details when modelling geology.

Oh well, maybe some day.

Someone told me that kimberlite pipes are in DF though.

Kiberlite, yes, pipes no.

That being said, I'd like to point out that microcline isn't blue and orthoclase isn't yellow.  They're pale blue and pale pink respectively.

I suppose they misunderstood my question then...

Orthoclase; "It can be colored white, gray, yellow, pink, or red; rarely green." - Wikipedia
Microcline is a cyanish color in DF as it is.

That being said, bright colors that are radically different from each other are helpful in games for discerning things, or do you want DF to be a game where you really need to train your eye to see what's going on even with the ROCKS?

Oops, messed up the microcline in my head somehow.  I remember looking it up once and thinking it was different. XD

And no, I didn't mean that the color variation should be duller.
