I made the Modbase just for that. There is one tiny glitch though, but I'll fix it in the next version.

It is out, but it also is broken - dwarfs sleep-starve by spring.

Smeg, I was waiting for this so much and now I have to go back to ASCII graphics for a while to play with it...

Well, on the good side, I can run it fullscreen now :)

Here's my message from the "Okay, it's tomorrow" thread:

Man, I probably should have checked the forums before doing this, but I put an EZ-Pack download on the DFFD.  Two, actually.  One uses the Guybrush tileset, and one uses the Guybrush ASCII tileset (for ASCII purists).

Here's the standard Guybrush
Here's the ASCII Guybrush

Should I be putting these links somewhere more prominent?

I guess the FotF thread is more prominent.  Though I'm probably going to have to put up new versions once the Spring bug is fixed.

Erm, what's all this talk of starvation? I'm rather confused. Should I be concerned about my fortress inexplicably starving to death?

For whatever reason, dwarves no longer wake up from sleep. So best to avoid fortress mode until the fix comes.

Am I just lucky  or are names now relevant to the events of somebody's life. I have a miner who's last name is stonemine, who worships the godess Emora Crystalmine, who is often associated with minerals.

EDIT: Also, I have a demon named Slakga Sizzleglows the Flare of Sins. She is associated with torture, death, and fire. Some groups and individuals began worshiping her throughout the ages.

EDIT again: She was also led an epic defense in 54 against Elana Beakbraids.

She has a total kill count of 109. All of them are elves besides two goblins. I wonder if you can get adventurers to worship a demon...

World generation ends a little too early for my tastes... (It always ends much earlier than it's supposed to...)

I have noticed that names seem a lot cooler lately, I don't know about relevance.

Remember- it IS an Alpha we're talking about here. We're all really software testers. Give it a go, find some bugs, and leave detailed info about it- that's our job. Besides, the World Painter's fun enough to be a game all it's own. It takes a while to figure it out- but that's probably not an issue with this crowd.

The names do seem a lot better. Maybe just because all of the people seem so much more real now that the silly names are more forgivable.

I know, I posted that to see how long I could last. Not very long, downloading it now.

This is interesting. I'm my first world I made, I went too a goblin fortress, wanting to slaughter, seeing how long I could last. I ended up finding them extremely friendly, plus, a bunch of dwarfs, humans, and elves were living there in harmony with them.

I'm hoping things will be better by the end of the work day anyways.
