It's the advantage of being a sleeping god, you don't have to actually do anything, but people still fear you.

We fear you 'cause you snore.  We don't wake you up 'cause we don't want to deal with a cranky star god.  And we're afraid of what you'll do when you see what we drew on your tentacles.

A god of evil-type industrialization.  Sure, some dwarves may die or be permanently maimed, and the trees may burn to ashes in the magma from the forges, but it's the price of progress.

Hey, everyone knows about the power of the almighty Dollar.

Funny how I thought he was referring to Soviet-era Communism.  Ironic how both seem to apply.

The Government owns all the wealth in communism.  Who is the government?

Granted, I hadn't realized he was referring to one of the gods in Toady's dev log in particular.

If you thought about Soviet era, this should be a god of fertility too =).
By 2 means:
1) The big family of many children was usual those days and highly encouraged (more workers, soldiers etc.).
2) Your family line could simply die off if it was not large enough those days.

I bet my platinum right gauntlet of bling that its released tomorrow or monday.

Also, the god of blight and wealth thing might just be a karma thing. Shiny monies to the good people, starvation and pestilence to the bad ones.

New devlog...

Quote from: Toady One
I also set up some confirmation dialogs and loading progress indicators here and there, and dwarves can now get tired of repeated helpings of the same food and drink, so you'll have to broaden what's available slightly if you don't want a minor yet fortress-spanning set of complaints.

For serious emphasis-
Quote from: Toady One

This is huge.  Dwarves can now keep track of repeated instances of interactions over time, and log them for future reference.  Oh yeah, and you'll need to grow something other than plump helmets.  I'm forseeing a whole new way for fortresses to tantrum-plode.

I can see a god of blight and wealth. Consider them two sides of the same coin, like Dame Fortune.

"Fortune is a wheel and at one point on the wheel is wealth and at the other blight. We turn the wheel until wealth is atop it, but must never forget that the wheels natural tendency is to turn. The wheel turns over and over, wealth and blight reversing their positions. Fear fame, fear money, fear great harvests and gold for the wheel must turn. Embrace the blight for the wheel must turn and in time all fortunes are reversed."

"-Book of Dur, The Blue Gorge of Legends: 1:23"

I can see it already. A dwarf resolving to go beserk and murder everything if he has to eat ONE more plump helmet.

Code: [Select]
Urist cancels Eat: went insane
A stray kitten has been struck down!
Bomrek Genericdwarf has been struck down! x10

Most everyone is going to get
"Urist has grown tired of eating Plump Helmets recently."
and everybody knows it.

Absolutely perfect. They literally go like this: "Worship us and we'll take your money, but at least we won't take your life away." Game mechanics work that way too. They'll have you low life while sitting at around 30, with everybody under your control brainwashed into doing nothing. Stupid deck, now with extra Unmake action!

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.
