I can't say I ever heard "oh my darling clementine" in full, but yeah, it's similar. However, isn't the tone of the song a bit unfitting to the nature of the events described? I would voice my own version, if subsequent listening didn't make me die from embarassment.

Clementine needs to be done in a Southern accent, not a hick.  Bob Dylan is always worth a laugh, however...


I like accents.  I can do a pretty good English accent (a few variations, actually), a respectable Irish, a passable hillbilly/redneck, an alright Southern gentleman, and one or two sentences in a peculiarly deep "Southern Belle".

Once in my life, I was able to spout out a couple words in a startlingly good Louis Armstrong impression.  I've never quite managed it since...

I was a drummer in a Metal band up until... Today....  But I thought it would always be neat to write a DF song.  Perhaps we could get a DF album together?  'Twould be awesome. :3
