Well seeing as its the first nonbugfix release since z-levels, this isn't surprising.

Idiom, except that tends to garner a few more horrified looks than asking if elephants and carp are dangerous.

But elephants can be dangerous in real life...?

And my dad would take me carp fishing when I was little.  Those things can get very, very big.

Sorry to break the topic of conversation and all, but hasn't it been a while since Toady has updated us on his progress? Checking the devlog had almost become a little daily ritual of mine again.

He moved all his weekends to the end of the month to let him do a solid block of DF coding, so he's taking a break. I think he has some weekend project he's working on.

Either way, he won't be back until next week or so.

Ah, thanks, I didn't quite understand what he meant with his last post. Oh well. I shall be starved of his great wisdom yet again.

Maybe we will get Slaves of Armok god of blood III?
It will start out as a small project, but with time it will be nibbling DF time until it becomes the young promising project and DF becomes the old version with horrendous graphics.

Dang it... Armok 1 was such a good game D:

(I'd at least like an update where towns are put back in.)

Limerick?

I don't think we had a DF limerick contest yet. (I thought we had a haiku one though) Anyone up to it?

I must say, I am very curious as to what this side project is. There was mention of a robot game a long while back... I wonder if Toady is still working on that?

There once was a lovely Haiku,
From a man who wrote limericks too.
But then came some people with taste,
Who ground his writings to paste,
And shoved them up his wazoo.

...

Yeah, I'm not used to writing these things.

You need to remove "but" or "then", and "came" from the third line, and "who" from the fourth, and it'll be a proper limerick.

There was once a lovely Haiku
From a man who wrote limericks too
But some people with taste
Ground his writings to paste
And shoved them up his wazoo.

I don't really approve the general humor that comes bundled with most limericks though.

I was making songs a long while back, mostly just making up words for existing music, but there were at least two for which I invented the tune myself. A pity I lost the texts for those, but they were reasonably awful, so it's no big loss. :)
