I think it's like "Hide useless stuff lying on the floor that I can't be bothered to take away". I don't see that being nearly as useful as dumping, but I guess it can't hurt.

That's epic.  I love it.

Nice update!

Good look with your month-end project, Toady!

... I should be working on mine too, but I'm too lazy.

Wow. This release has gone from "Huh, lots of cool background stuff!" to "There's some really nice stuff going on here, can't wait to build a world with it" to "This game just got soooooo much better!". Good job, Toady!

Really looking forward to the actual release in July. =)

Hey! Dumping [d]esignation! Ability to hide everything. even buildings!!! Wooow!

Now we can have our forts productive without bothering to remove all this stone because it's "unaestatic", just "hide" it. It's still here, you don't need to dump it and make your useful dwarves busy, but you don't see it, like unneeded engravings. Woo!

Also zone to "d"ump and "m"elt! ... It's a great interface improvement.

At last, building above ground towns won't aggrivate my wrists.  Or take hours.  I love having my presents told to me.  Makes the anticipation all the sweeter.

I hope that hiding objects will also put them at the end of the list...

Goodness... What will this board do now that MANY of the major reoccuring suggestions have been finished? IT IS ARMAGEDON!!!

Also I wanted to ask the community how long has it been since the last "Statues should work somewhat like engravings" suggestion? I KNOW it has been done... but I never actually seen it... (It is TOO basic, I wouldn't be surprised if it is written out specifically in the Dev logs)

This board is starting to get easier on my eyes... things are less cramp now.

I've been meaning to ask exactly this for weeks.  Kept slipping my mind.  But yeah, it just seems so basic, what with the new history and all.

The one thing that I'd rather have before engraved statues is engravings that are fairly relevant.

Nothing's more annoying than engraving one of your "fallen heroes", you know the one... (s)he who managed to single handedly kill x number of goblins, only to find that it's tomb's been engraved with images of cheese and engravings of a dwarf engraving cheese. I want scenes of battle, not "Foo is raising the cheese!"  :-\

Well, we'll still need to have the stone moved for the building of buildings and the growing of tower-caps and whatnot.

I see myself getting more use out of the mass dumping than the crap-hiding.  Anyone else feeling that way?

Actually when you dig a huge complex of huge rooms somewhere downstairs the hiding will work better than dumping. This will remove stone-catapulting, which was for nothing but look and also it destroyed a lot of stone resource which is abundant but not limitless.
And dumping in crucial areas with [d]esignation is a huge success.
