MyLittlePonyBuiltMyHotRod, this is your first warning. I would like to direct you to read our forum's FAQ and posting guidelines before posting again. Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate.

I think that there wasn't a midnight release. Considering it's 10AM over where I live now. :D

Well, I sure am glad you asked that question rather than why I am the little anime girl with a frilly maid dress and rocket boots.

I'm contemplating whether I'll wait up for release or not.

edit: waha~!

I think it'll be nice to have a fresh, new FoTF thread when the new release comes out.

Just think, the first four pages of it could all be various variations on  'ZOMG!!!!  NEW VERSION!!!' and 'lyk wtf?? i has hippie dwarfs enslaved by elfs in this world?'

With that in mind... maybe we should wait a week (after the bulk of the OMG posts are done with) before making another Future of the Fortress

Well, not long to go chaps.

Time to get you all hyped and frothing about the new features, heh.

Mmm. Designatable Dumping, Bulk Constructions.
Ooh, tunnels. How about filling one with magma?
Proper civs. Lasting effects.
World gen can be stopped anytime.
Legends are detailed...

I think it'll be nice to have a fresh, new FoTF thread when the new release comes out.
I thought that with the new forum software new threads are not needed. So we could start using the original FoTF thread since it won't (as far as I know) cause crashes anymore. But I do understand that freshness would be nice. Starting a new FoTF thread every time a major release hits would be very fresh, clean, and would make browsing them easier (if someone does that), but I don't think it is necessary.  ;D

There's something I'm not clear on:  Do civ relationships now determine who does or does not siege/ambush/burgle us, or does that kind of thing only happen in world gen?  I'm aware that the units that make up a sieging army won't be changed 'til Army Arc Release 3, but that's a different issue.

Regarding designatable dumping, I'd still like to see a tool for dumping everything under a square area (like the new 'build construction' tool). Or is that what Toady has added and I'm misreading that particular update?
