At last I can actually jump to the last reply and also it's no longer sending me to the 1st page after reply =). We have a nice forum now, thanks Toady!

[EDIT] Damn, now it throws me in the main forum instead of the 1st topic. I hope it's configurable.

I hope it's configurable.
It is. Look in your Profile under "Look and Layout"
There's the option:
"Return to topics after posting by default."

Edit:
Looks like even with the option it doesn't take you back to the thread.

It always has for me. (EDIT: including this time)
It also shows up under "Additional Options..." just under the posting window.

One thing I really don't like about the new forum: It only lists four pages (e.g. 1 2 3 ... 28), which means if I wanted to get to, say, page 17, I'd have to keep going 3 pages at a time.  So Toady, if possible, could you up the number of displayed pages to 10+?

Also, for those looking for the option, under Look and Layout in your profile you can set the number of posts per page to 25, as it was on the old forum.

Wow, that was faster than I expected...

Are long threads going to be buggy? Will Future of the Fortress 4 be the longest thread ever?

I'm sure FotF will continue a healthy life. Unless some massive bug rears its head in a very DF way, causing mass deaths and a reclaim.

 Ohcrap...

It may not be the solution you're looking for, but once you're inside the thread you want to read, if you click on the ellipsis it'll expand to show you ever page.

Nice new forum.  The jump to 28 pages for FotF was a bit of surprise though, I thought you guys had been nattering quite a lot.

It depends on Messages-Per-Page setting which is configurable.

Or there's another neat option: make a textbox near the pages' number so we could type the number of the desired page and press "enter" to jump to that page.

I haven't been keeping up totally with the next release but the dwarven roads through the mountain-side are interesting.  Does this mean that dwarven civilizations will now build a road to your fortress through the inside of your mountain?

I don't think so, they are made during world gen at the moment. Not even sure if they show up in the game.

Toady has said worldgen roads, tunnels and bridges will already appear ingame for the next release. But are currently buggy and might show disconnections here and there.

Run DF on the Roadrunner!!
You know, as soon as I saw that news article online, my first thought was "imagine the dwarf fortress you could build with that thing!"

I imagine it could be the only machine capable of running a Dwarf Fort with a pressure switch computer simulating another DF inside...

... or maybe Crysis on max settings.
