You'll do fine Scruga. Just try your best and write a decent log. As long as the goblins don't come, I don't think you'll be completely pwnt.

Also, just to let you guys know, I was planning on building a bridge over that pit incase we need to deal with ambushers traders

Actually, there already IS a bridge over the pit - it's just retractable and out of sight at the moment.  The lever next to the depot controls it.

just to get things straight, i play for 1 game-year, give the major my nick, write a log, take screenshots and post it here?

1st of Granite,
I just arrived in this up-to-come Mountainhome, and the first thing i saw were the walls under construction. All dwarves here are loyal to their ancestors and work hard like them.
I immediatly ordered the construction of an office, bedroom and a dining room to sit back and relax manage my responsibilities.


9th of Granite
An elven caravan has arrived, i'm going to see what they want to buy from us.
Also i found the smith, i was looking deeper in the mountain but i was supposed to look on a higher level, silly me.


12th of Granite
I was woken by a scream. "AMBUSH!!!". One of the elder dwarves said they didn't expect goblins and leading wouldn't be a problem, now look what happens! I order all dwarves inside, pull the shiny lever(finaly  8)) and get my ass inside. I quickly make unarmed militia of all peasants, they don't add anything to my civilisation so i could as well let 'em die.


25th of Granite
We ran out of arrows, the goblins are still hopping around near the west gate, no problems expected.

i'm in a rush now so my writing is not very good, we are also being attacked by harpies now. i understand now why we need a roof. this is getting a disaster slowly, where is the guy who told me i could lead this!?


3rd of Slate
The first good news, a recruit became a marksdwarf for shooting at goblins. The harpies are killed and i think we are getting a safer hold now.


6th of Slate
Forget the good news, the marksdwarf got shot and died.
Who had the "genius" idea to link the inner and outer bridge to the same lever?


1st Felsite
I had to take desperate measures  :'(
I ordered the Captain of the Guard to call everybody together. They armed themselves with everything we had, so the majority was unarmed. Someone had to pull the lever, and we charged those damn filthy goblins. Result:
5 Goblins dead
10 Dwarves dead
10-5 for the goblins.
But at least we are safe once more. And we are running out of coffins.


5th Felsite
19 migrants arrived. And a baby drowned, not much news.

Today we are still trying to recover from the attacks, i'm happy no body went insane yet. Also i talked to Captain Affy (which means he lives ;)) about next attacks, we figured out we are just going to start a permantently unarmed wrestling militia built out of peasants. We will let them train allways, untill judgement day. I'm starting to hate caravans, they only bring ambushes with them.

1 Hematite 1054
Great news, the mayor gave birth to a boy! The first child of the summer, from the leader. It feels like everything is going to be allright after all. 2 recruits are official wrestlers now. These peasants might become the core of our defending system some day.

23rd Hematite
A human caravan arrived. They didn't bring wagons because we had our bridge not lowered. Lesson for next caravans. As soon as the humans on foot were in the depot the first signs of hostile activities became clear. A goblin child snatcher and a goblin thieve. I ordered every last dwarf inside and when everybody was inside we closed the entrance with the bridges. Hahah! come and get us now!

We bought some wood from the humans by the way, for i don't know how long we have to stay inside. But our total of 7 wrestlers might want a real thing to practice on soon.


16th Malachite
The merchants just left and i'm starting to think about getting the forges work finaly.

17th of Malachite
hmm... a human Diplomat was struck by melancholy and he left unhappy. Whatever we'll see sometimes later.

18th of Malachite
Ambush! Same procedure as allways. They ambushed a hunter, Fath Esrigoth, and killed him quickly. Thob Melhilaral the ranger is taking a nap outside. We have no choice to leave him there, the bridges are closing. Some weapons traps finished the goblins, i didn't even know they were there! and the hunter had killed a Gobbo before he died.

6th Galena
No more goblin activity, the sparring wrestlers are dropping more and more clothes on the floor. I don't think i'm going to give any more attention to the smithing for the next months. It's just another extra thing to do. I made the meeting hall at the refuse dump in the south. This way it's more obvious who is doing something useful and who is not.


12th of Galena
Funny thing. 1 of the recruits has become an Axedwarf, apperently he was woodcutter or something and i didn't make him fight unarmed. Only 1 recruit left!


1st Limestone
We ran out of booze today, nothing bad we just forgot to make new(maybe because of the ale?). Autumn is upon us now.

9th Limestone
A stock of 50 drinks now.
Calm period.

Dwarven caravan arrived, let us pray to the gods for no ambushes. Nil Rutodlogem kicked everyone out of "his" carpenters workshop.

17th of Limestone
SIEGE
I never had a goblin siege before, so surviving 1 is even further away. Ok, everyone get your ass inside and close those damned bridges!!! They are crossing the bridge and -praise Toady the Great- there are still weapon traps there. and i luckily upgraded the right raiseable bridge with stonetraps. Those cowardly goblins, they ran as soon as 1 of them was killed by a weapon trap. Dwarven enginering did it's job once more.

27th of Limestone
Strange... The axedwarf is now a wrestler...

28th of Limestone
The dwarf who took the carpenters workshop now asks for gems, metal, wood, and bones. i don't think i can give it to him. Poor fella, he looks like he really wants the shiny gems.

15th of Sandstone

Harpies sighted, i called the militia and ordered eveyrbody inside. When the wrestlers were ready to rumble, the harpies were gone. I hope they won't return.

4th Timber
Winter is drawing near, i hope there will be no werewolves this winter.

5th Timber
Unfortunately but expected, the soapmaker went insane. The bad thing is he has gone berserk. Close to the wrestlers sparring room luckily. He has bled to death.

25th of Timber
A werewolf came. The wrestlers charged him (with only 2, the others thought they could sleep and drink). But they managed to kill the evil creature easily.

Winter is here and i lead the wrestler squad now. A dangerous job, but everybody admires my bravery. 

12th of Moonstone
I personally finished a werewolf today. I don't understand why these creatures keep coming to our walls.

17th of Moonstone
I've ordered the building of my own tomb. It feels strange to build your own tomb, but it also makes you stick with the reality of life and death

20th of Moonstone
Harpies and goblins! i hope the same of a few months ago doesn't repeat itself.
Right when i'm writing this someone yells there was an ambush!

We killed a harpy.

The goblins then charged us! My wrestler squad including me attacked those vile creatures, and with 2 wounded dwarves we have managed to achieve victory!
1 of the wrestlers has bled to death.

1st of Opal
A goblin MASTER thief appeared on stage. I don't know but i think we can expect a big siege next year.

13th of Opal
I finished my tomb, if any new leaders wish to make a bigger tomb for themselves, try it! If any of them doesn't like my beautiful creation, destroy it! at least i'm happy for now.

17th of Opal
Parts of the river are starting to freeze, and so is the moat. I hope we won't be attacked by something big then.

20th of Opal
Captain Affy said he didn't like the fact there were no men under his command.
So now he commands half of the wrestlers.
