I've no idea what a Nemesis Unit is, but something about one failed and caused my game to crash.

I wish I could be more helpful. Is there a crash log or something I can upload?

The only message like that is the load failure, which happens when your unit files in the region folder are missing or corrupted.  Something very bad happened, but it'll be hard to say what it is.

What could cause such a failure?

Missing files in your save folder, usually.  Or a corrupted file.

Im suddenly having this problem as well, game loads jogs along fine and then suddenly "Nemesis Unit load fail" and the game dies.

No clue whats causing it cos like I say it was half an hour into a game that was other wise running fine.

From nemesis I thought it might have been a megabeast trying to arrieve that caused a crash or a siege or something.

It used to say "Inflate -3" and that error is our nemesis.
