This a Birchen book. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is decorated with pine and bands of  unicorn leather. This object menaces with spikes of green glass, aluminum, goblin bone and obsidian. On the item is an image of a dwarf surrounded by dwarves in alunite. The dwarfs are laughing at the dwarf. On the item is an image of a dwarf surrounded by goblins in obsidian. The dwarf is laughing at the goblins.

Spring of 55, 1st Granite
I'm rather unhappy. Her majesty has commanded me to take charge of some backwater fort of heretics in Happy Land. Apparantly a demon had moved in and was lording over the fort like the denizens where goblins.
I tried to sneak in as a lowly peasant hethan only to find that I've been expected, and designated supreme manager of the fort. Also, there's no demon. Bummer.
Good news is that I had to sneak past the most massive assortment of traps I have ever witnessed. At least these sin-filled dwarfs know to handle wild animals.

2nd Granite
I've tried telling these pebble headed imbeciles that I'm no task masker. I am a mighty champion (yet to actually slay any beast, but that is another matter.) However, some ugly little whelp has firmly viced himself to my leg and refuses to leave me alone unless I'm in my private sleeping chamber. Conviently, it's deep within the mountain. Figures.

3rd Granite
I've surveyed the area. It's ugly. Very ugly. Apparently there's supposed to be a beautiful artificial waterfall cascading outside the fort. What we have instead is a muddy side of the mountain. I'm going to ask the architects and mechanics about scrapping the projects and putting a proper indoor waterfall, where a beard can actually enjoy it.
Also, there's a lot of blood covered clothes and armour and weapons that are not the right size for a dwarf. Appears this fort has been attacked by elves and goblins. I expect those foul animals will be back with another import of their deformed equipment, and will be supervising the improvement of the fort's military.

There is a switch in the dining room that switches between flooding outside and having the indoor waterfall flow. Or maybe 2, they are all labelled with the note system

1st Felsite
One of those smiths has been taken by the spirits, he ran screaming up into the crafts area and stated rummaging about the whole compound, gathering a seemingly random assortment of items. With all the clutter in his chosen workshop, I wonder if he'll finish in time?

6th Felsite
Dastot Uringmabell has finished creating an artifact. Teskomimesh (Jailsprinkled), a sailfin molly bone chain! All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encircled with bands of pig tail hoary marmot leather. This object menaces with spikes of sailfin molly bone microcline.
A dungeon will be constructed to set up this artifact, in case one of the fems decides to misbehave.

PS: Appears we already have a dungeon. I'm ecstatic.

That mayor is mad. She has requested that we produce green glass items. Not being specific about what kind, but there's no sand available for anyone to produce green glass from, nor is anyone actually capable of making green glass.

That child that won't relinquish my leg is of some great importance. Someone has constructed a rather large tomb for 'em. Strange. Very Strange. Stranger still is the fact that his coffin is surounded by levels. Odd. Very odd. Noone know what they do, or maybe they're not talking.

I've begun the construction of a siege workshop. A catapult would look rather dainty atop this fort. Also, a ballista would compliment the defences quite nicely.

19th Felsite
One of the heathans complained about building a new indoor water fall. We already had, if we threw a few switched first. I asked him if it was a multi-level cascading waterfall, and he started crying. Pansy.

1st Hemmatite
There is something seriously wrong with the waterfall system. Actually, it may have something to do with the water. The new cascading waterfall flooded the upper level, and muddied the whole floor. The old water fall had the same problem. The pumps have been shut off (thank the genius that put in a shut off level). I'll have the architects look at the problem.

This is really messed up. The tunnel that was dug out to act as the drain fills but doesn't drain anywhere near as fast. I'm gonna get some pumps in there to solve the problem.

13th Hematite
A caravan from those big ugly apes has arrived, looking to trade. We'll see if they can appreciate some masterful bone and stone items.

The drain pumps are almost complete. It's a tight fit down there, and the workers are stepping on each other's toes, but it'll be done soon.

21st Hematite
There's a goblin screaming it's lungs out outside. Something about avenging his dead family.

22nd Hematite
The screaming goblin was part of a raiding party that tried to come into the fort. The rest of the raid is in bloody chunks around the entrance. I've been berating the hethans for a good hour about informing me of a greenskin presence in the future.

18th Malachite
The drain pump system is being expanded. The drain tunnel is going to be renovated to better handle the new flow method. Also, the dungeon master is going to train a pair of dogs so as to improve out defences near the depot. I've developed paranoia, and believe that a thief may slip past the traps and hethan's warriors. Loyal beasts would better serve
me us.

21st Malachite
The mayor has expresses how upset she was that green glass items where not produced by her heathens. Also, she's banned the export of them. I think she's insane.
There was a horrible stench filling the food stockpile. We found the source of it, and a new dead vermin stockpile has been dug out.

24th Malachite
I've surveyed the stockpiles today. Just as I predicted, the training catapult has assisted greatly in the efficiency of the stone stockpile. Also, we're dangerously low on barrels, despite having obtained some from the human caravan.

16th Galena
The waterfall drainage system has been completed. The switch has been thrown.

20th Galena
The new drainage system prevents the water fall from flooding the fortress.
One of the cows has been shot dead by a siege operator. He was practising balista operation when the bumbling bovine walked directly in front of his firing arc.
The cow was somebody's pet. So sad.
Tonight, it will be my dinner. Sad feeling gone.

21st Galena
Did you know that there' are gems made of wax buried in the ground? It's true!

13th Limestone
The waterfall still floods, but only when nobody's looking.
I've decided to keep the miners busy 'till either they die, or become ultra mighty. The two highest levels of the mountain shall be exploratorily mined. Took days for me to explain the process, but they'll chisel their way thru. If anything is up there, they'll find it.

15th Limestone
Traders from the mountainhomes came and set up shop at the the trade depot. News was good. Every heathen has been exiled, and soon, loyalists directing the outposts can return home. Excellent. I'd be glad to never see that child, Pissing Echoes again.
The traders brought much meat and metal goods. Strange however, that there was a massive surplus of cloth produced this year.

16th Limestone
The so called Captain of the Guard has been boasting about his bin crafting skills. Weirdo.
Today, I reorganized the military. I also drafted five useless bums and ordered them to train. In the mean time, the smiths will be crafting metal armour for everyone.

14th Sandstone
A new miasma problem has arisen. There is so much food that it sits on the shelves and on counters and rots. Food production has been suspended 'till the
filthy, disgusting, wasteful sacks of goblin puss heathens begin starving.

23rd Sandstone
Another creature has fallen victim to balista practice: a stray kitten. Spectacularly, the poor fluffy aminal's head was cleanly severed from it's body. I wasn't present to watch the event, but the little thing's head bounced down the recovery shoot, and into the access hallway. Amazing. I can't wait 'till these machines area ready for use on elves!
Also, the mayor had another child today. This'll be her third. This new brat will certainly distract the populace from the dramatic loss of a stray kitten.

2nd Timber
One of the heathens (Sodel?) is weeping in a corner. Something about silky smooth hair? Strange. Very Strange.
A wave of immigrants filed into the for, looking for work.

One more season to go... guh!

1st Moonstone
I can't get this song out of my head. I don't know where I heard it before, and I can't fathom the language it's in. It's driving me nuts.
In other news, I've begun chipping into the exposed bismuth and aluminum veins on the side of this mountain. Walls will be constructed to seal the vein back in for proper mining later.

20th Moonstone
Those vein were duds. The went in two feets.
The song
iz is still playing. I'm not getting sleep.

3rd Opal
Din Dan is screaming every time he makes a bed, in beat with the music. Urge to kill rising.

6th Opal
Din Dan has stopped yelling, as he has stopped making things. But now engravers "Anthill" and "At Here" keeps screaming every time he chisels a doodle into a wall.  Must resist.

10th Opal
One of the recruits has claimed a craftshop.
I have a big headache.
I'm sick of drinking wine.
I'm sick of this place.
WHY WON'T THE MUSIC STOP!!!

12th of Opal
I've gotten used to the song, since I started singing it myself. It's actually quite nice. I wish I knew musical notation so that I could wright it down.
The old trade depot was disassembled. The wood colour was ugly and bothersome. The new one is built of proper material: Stone. Cobaltite specifically. I hope one day I could have it constructed out of Native Gold Nuggets, if another vein can be found.
I was spooked by a kitten today. I swear, the thing came out of the walls.

24th Opal
The engravers will start to smooth down the tomb area. Rough stone is so disrespectful to the dead.

25th Opal
I hate these heathens.

2nd Obsidian
Despite the new and improved precautionary measures, the balitsa has claimed another victim. A puppy. I'm surprised the critter was tall enough to be struck, let alone pulverized beyond recognition. Unlike the kitten, the puppy simply exploded on contact with the balista arrow.
A new precautionary measure has been devised. I will tell people not to stand in front of the balista.
I've been complimented on my singing today. My mystical tune is quite madening.
The recruit that's been hogging one of the crafts shops has finished his project.

Tithlethvukrig Duztulon, "Rumorrift the Smeared Roads"
This is an andesite ring. All crawtdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encrusted with Andesite and Chrysoberyl, studded with Iron, and decorated with cat bone. This object menaces with spikes of Chrysoberyl. On the item is an image of a Cedar cage in Andesite. On the item is an image of dwarves in Andesite. The dwarves are laboring. On the item is an image of narrow crescents in Indigo tourmaline. On the item is an image of a dwarf in Chrysoberyl. On the item is the image of an andesite ring encrusted with Andesite and Chrysoberyl, studded with Iron, and decorated with cat bone in Copper.

By the burning bear barrels of Bubbin, how did he chisel, not draw, but CHISEL the image of the ring he just made onto itself?

4th Obsidian
Obok Altirakmam and Altir Olinsemar have been competing with each other over who can make the most beautiful engravings in the tomb. They've been running up to me and yelling of their exploits since yesterday, and they're not even close to finished.

7th Obsidian
I drank some bad wine and can't talk anymore. Can't even hum my song, either. This stinks something green. Maybe I can find an instrument and learn to play it instead.

13th Obisidan
I've found a newly invented instrument. A violin. It's a human invention, but it has the sound I'm looking for.
Also, Din Dan has been making masterfully crafted barrels. I know this because he keeps running up to me, screaming about how wonderful his masterfully crafter barrels are, shoving them into my face so that I can see them better and cheer up over loosing my voice. I hate this beard.

14th Obsidian
Thank the gods, we've run out of wood for Din Dan to make masterfully crafted barrels and bins out of. I wish I could take credit for the deed. Wait. I can. So I will. It's all my doing that there are no logs for Din Dan to make masterfully crafter barrels and bins out of since I told the wood cutters to stop cutting down trees. It wasn't easy. I had to teach them how to read then write out my instructions.

15th Obsidian
I saw that kitten that spooked me a while back. I saw it come right out of a wall. Wonderful, isn't it? This place is haunted. Stupid heathens and their messed spirit worshipping, baby eatingness.

16th Obsidian
Actually, I think I'm only going crazy. Nobody else can see the ghost kitten.

17th Obsidian
The ghost kitten's head sometimes floats around without it's body. It's actually rather amusing, if extremely disgusting. Ghost blood spurts out of the neck.

20th Obsidian
I've been complimented on my violin playing today. As maddening as my singing.
I've ordered a grand statue to be craved in my honour, as I have more than doubled these heathens' safety and facilitated the acquisition of
trash trinkets and anvils from passing traders.

22nd Obsidian
None of the masons of a highest skill to create a statue glorious enough for me, so I ordered a great feast in my honour to be held. That brewer with the face told me she'd make a special brew just for me.

23rd Obsidian
One of the furnace operator gave birth to a baby girl today. A wonderful distraction from my honorary party. Not!
Fabulous news! The ghost kitten actually isn't wandering aimlessly. It's doing the same thing every other day at the exact same time. I think I'll follow it next time.
I can't wait for my special brew. This everyday wine is upsetting my stomach.

The rest of the pages have been chewed on. No more text is legible.

-------

Well that's my turn. Hope you didn't get attached to the nameless hypocritical bigot. You can imagine that he met his end either chasing the ghost kitten into the balista's firing line, or that the heathens other dwarves were sick of the sot mistreating them and crafted a special sleeping brew. And by sleeping brew, I mean poison. And by poison. I mean water.

Highlights:
  • Turned Food Production OFF! It was rotting on the shelves and filling up the barrels. Also. the fort is a little low on rum.
  • Redid the waterfall. Failed. Sealed it up. Despite adding 15 pumps to the drainage system, it still flood in the upper levels when you're not looking.
  • Begun what could pssibly eb an obsidian farm. The top layer of magma has been cooled into obsidian and channelled out. The forges where no affected. I'm assuming that if you channel directly above the magma vent (the feature at the bottom z-level) the top level will refill, If not, there's plenty of iron/steel on the map to make a set of blocks, a pipe and a corkscrew to make a magma safe pump.
  • Set up a balista and catapult and organize a trio of operators. They should be legendary in a few years. The next player may fish to somehow train a siege engineer to legendary level before constructing an actually useful balista at the entrance.
  • Dug out the top two layers of the mountain. They're not expose, just hollow. This got two more of the miners to legendary level. The rest are competent at worst.
  • Melted down all the copper plate mail, and all the useless metal things like large armour, and single blots. The copper armour wasn't good enough.
  • Dug out, smoothed and furnished more bedrooms. Also, the mass tomb has been fully engraved.

I'd say using a downloadable program would be a good bet.

It doesn't seem like Zerox or Rebel are around, so tomorrow you may want to be ready to take a turn.

Go on ahead, Rebel. Should give Chazzy adequate time to prepare, unless he's already started, in which case we'll have a royal mess on our hands, but I'm not sure waiting a day for confirmation would be prudent at this point.
