In either case, will we be upgrading to 39e or sticking with 39d?

I'm looking forward to seeing this hodgepodge fortress, and have been considering what sort of quick project I can pull off in my short term of office. Elaborate cascading waterfall system? Catapult Tower? Batista Barrister? Demon Worship?
We've been playing one 39e since the second turn. :D

Maybe build Catapult tower.

Just a couple of notes on what I did. Since the fortress was pretty much running itself, I had my own projects. The waterfall works, but floods every now and then, so someone else might be able to fix it. The flooding of the plains and the massive failure that was my dam were doomed from the start. In the end I ran out of time, but it was intended to be a very tall tower filled with water, with one floodgate at the bottom that would flood the entire map when opened. The plan to open that was a pressure plate, triggered by even our own dwarfes, at the entrance to my tomb, as a little suprise for letting me die. (I named the first baby of the fortress after me, want to see where he goes in life  :P ) Someone may wish to finish what I started, ignore it, or most likely deconstruct all the walls. It is really badly done, so feel free to improve it.  ;)

Thanks for the game guys  :)

Heh... The humans are supposed to be able to avoid any traps the liason has seen, though I was pretty sure I built new ones after he died. That's a pretty nasty seige, but it seems like you did all right. Though, that pressure plate would end up keeping us from putting shiney things in yor tomb, too. Probably good you didn't get around to it.

It is close to my turn: need help getting newest update.

h, Nessing is cool and all. And Civilization goes from stone to steam punk, but nothin'' beats a good dose of Fanaticialism to Dwarf Fortress and a load of Dwarfen Rum!

Should just be able to download it off the site.. And yes, it is time for your turn.

Should make things simpler to use this, though.

Nice! Too bad about the siege though. Anyway, http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-3201-chainpaper that's the map on DFMA.

I counted, there were 44 humans in the siege.  :-\
I just waited the siege out, in reality, not much I could do. A bigger military would be advised.

Oh, I did get round to it, but at the moment, it only releases the water from the 1 z-level tall tower on the plain. I was originally going to make my tomb somewhere hard to find, so that no-one would notice it, until they were dragging my corpse down there  :P

Oh, and I labelled all the levers in the dining room using the notes system for future people.

I would like to actually start getting my whole "Reputation for madness going.

So, can I join as a super-mega crazy guy or is that too much for this noobie fort?

It's Dwarves not dwarfs.

Hm... I'd advise against blatantly bad ideas (like 'that line of rock outside was too messy, so I deconstructed it, removed the bridge, and filled in the moat'.)

But big projects you have no real idea how to actually pull off safely work just as well. Like a MAGMA CANNON!

Can I join?  If you are looking for a noobish person with ideas that can destroy the whole fort I can be that person.

Like one I tried to build a waterfall near the front entrance of my but the grates didn't drain as much water as I though they would so the area began flooding and then freezing winter hit and.... you can guess from there.

But seriously I have never played a sucession game before and this seems like the perfect place to start.  Or do you not take new people after the game started?  ???

Finally stuck the both of you onto the list. You should be coming up soon. And yeah, this would be the newbie succession game (somewhat).

Hm... It seems like Fanatic's gone AWOL. If he's not here by the day's end, The_Taken would be next in line.

I guess it's my turn then. I don't feel like doing it tonight. I may tomorrow. Or the day after.
